Overheard a man telling his friend/colleague that his wife called him "a f'ing doormat" as it related to his profession.
1) I'm shocked (but shouldn't be) that somebody would say that to their spouse like that 2) I'm surprised a man would share it out loud - isn't that a violation of the man code? 3) what would you do/think if your spouse called you a "f'ing doormat?" |

That lady is an asshole; they are common in DC’s hyper-driven society, and
- they should divorce, so she can marry some CEO who either will either cheat on her (goes with the ego), or drop dead at 45 because he’s a workaholic. They deserve each other. |
| Hopefully he was speaking with his divorce attorney! |
| Like OMG sooooooo shocking. I’d run here to post and poll. |
Is he in academia?
|
He's a doormat salesman. |
| That's not how the man code works... |

Wonder if it was this lady’s DH...

Seems like such words might be said in the heat of an argument, while trying to fight for said beloved man's professional career.
So, not shocking. At least he has a spouse fighting for him. |
| Every day in DCUM we see examples of women who have utter contempt for their husbands, and this surprises you? |
Wow |
Exactly... |
Really? his wife is fighting FOR him? is that what calling somebody a "f'ing doormat" is in your eyes? I really don't see it that way. Shocking because I'd NEVER use those words to my spouse - maybe that's my own issue - and I don't have any experience with drag out dirty fights. |
Maybe she needs to wake him up. He needs to advocate, get the promotion, fight for his family, stick up fir what’s right at work… Not be an F’in doormat! |
