ECNL moving to school year not calendar

ECNL will not go against US Soccer. Everything will stay the same until 26/27. Everyone just has to chill and wait another year. It’s not the end of the world. Age change doesn’t really matter one way or the other.

GA making moves and ECNL waiting around.

They did not support it. Rather they supported whatever decision was made by USSF. USSF did not take sides and that means leagues will do whatever they want.

ECNL thinks of themselves as the overlord of youth soccer. They do not think they have anything to worry about. We will find out if they were right or wrong down the road.

ECNL will copy MLSN biobanding rule to let 3 Q3/Q4 to play down a year. GA will lose elite Q3/Q4 players after 3/2.

It will not be the same. Bench Q1/Q2 players will make room for Q3/Q4 in the upcoming tryout. If ECNL allows biobanding, then more Q3/Q4 will join.

There are rumors after rumors for many months. Just for the benefit of trap players, I hope ECNL can start some transition plans soon.

This is losing steam fast already and is not a major priority. Top ECNL clubs, teams and players are bailing in this area and likely will be the same in other areas. In the next year the youth soccer landscape is going to be very different and ECNL will have to readjust in different ways if they want to stay relevant.

Name a top 25 nationally ranked girls club leaving for GA? It’s bad business for any girls club to leave ECNL. Unless the GA can convince a majority of the top ECNL clubs to join.

You are an idiot. You are completely forgetting the fact that boys side exists.

GA gets scouts both college and YNT… moving the boys to MLSN and having the girls in GA ( a thriving league) is a smart move.

I did not forget about the boys side, my point just had nothing to do with them.

I didn’t say GA was a bad league either?

My point still remains it’s bad business for a club to leave ECNL for GA. Unless you’re from a place that doesn’t have rival high quality ECNL clubs around.

Plenty of rival high quality ECNL clubs in this area and yet it’s still happening.

You will know ECNL plan after the meeting. Based on their track record and MLS/GA's recent aggressive tactics, you can be assured ECNL will have a very bold move that shocks everyone. I think it will be more than the early transition to SY for all NL/RL teams.

This will be another reason the top teams and players move on. ECNL will become a mostly rec and regional league where friends can play together.

Wishful thinking. I think it’s a good idea. Just not sure it will happen.

What a joke. Players are not moving on from the best college recruiting platform in the us.

We will see. ECNL will not be a sitting duck for a year. They already allow trap players of 8th graders to play down for half the season. My wishful thinking is they expand it to all age groups for the next season. I bet that will happen at least, and a more aggressive counterattack will follow.

This may happen or it could be more than three. I would say by spring season it will increase even more so everyone knows where they stand going in the follow year tryouts.
