I wanted to know if they’d think I was in distress and try to alert someone for help. (I live alone.)
My Mastiff sniffed my ass and dropped her bone on my head. The other dog sniffed me and did seem a little more concerned. What would your dog do? Give it a try and let us know. 😅😅 |
| I bet they could tell you were playing! |

Thank you for making me feel less like the lone ranger for doing this myself.
Neither of my dogs (both are protective of the house) gave me more than a quick sniff and moved on. I didn't have it in my to fake it for a good hour and I kept thinking of the horror movie DH and I watched once where a guy died and his dog got hungry enough that she ate him. |
Hahahahahah! As a solo gal, I know for certain I’ll be dog food if I pass w/o being discovered for a few days. 😖😖 But, I’d like to know my pups would try to bark for help or scratch the door or something if I was rescue-able. To the first PP: I totally believe dogs can sense when their owners are in true distress, but I’ve seen videos where dogs go for help when their owners fake passing out. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ |
| I once had a terrible migraine while I was dog-sitting my SIL and brother's dog. The dog considered me her best friend. My migraine was so bad that I was laying on the office floor. She stayed with me the whole time. At times, she kissed me. When I would crawl to the bathroom to throw up, she would watch me. |
| There are some videos maybe on YouTube of an experiment where guys pretend to break into a house and attack the owner and in many of them the dogs walked away. A little chihuahua mix and some other small dog were the only ones who tried to protect the owner. Search it up it’s entertaining. |
| My dog would lay down for joint nap time. |

My Samoyed knows when we're not feeling well, and stays close to whoever is sick. But he's not going to bark to alert someone, or fetch somebody, if someone has a sudden accident - at least, he didn't when I tumbled down the entire length of the basement stairs with the laundry! |
Thanks PP! This is incredible! 😅😅😅😅😅 [OP] |
| I tried it as well. Mine pulled at my pants legs until I stopped him afraid he'd rip them. |
After she sniffed my ass and dropped her bone on me, the Mastiff picked it up and started chewing it right next to me. Oh well, at least she looks scary. 😭😭 [OP] |
Aww, what a good dog. He was trying to help. |
| They can tell when your heart rate really changes. Otherwise, they know you are playing. My cats have always been sweeties when I was really ill and ignored me if I faked a heart attack. |
This might be why the only time my dog really cared was when I was hyperthyroid and extremely sick. My heart was racing at 130 beats, I was sweating and had the worst headache ever. It happened quite suddenly and my dog has never been so patient with me. |
I want to up my game and have someone fake a break in. 😆😆 [OP] |
