If your DCPS school has communicated that lunch will be outdoors, would you please name the school and describe the plan (tent or not, staffing, inclement weather plans, etc.).
TIA! |
SWS has said lunch in classrooms. Ugh.
Takoma is planning for outdoor
Murch - weather dependent and resources dependent. May ask parents to volunteer.
Tubman is planning for outdoor in tents. Not sure on the rest of the details.
lafayette just announced outdoor lunch
Haven’t heard a peep from Janney. Anyone with intel?
Oyster indoors. Cafeteria and classrooms.
Are these schools doing the same for breakfast? Snacks?
Hearst- weather permitting. Parents are welcome to volunteer but need to get DCPS background clearance first.
Bancroft 1st and up outdoors. Calling for parent volunteers. Logistics haven’t been communicated. My only question is what about the winter time?
I think the hope will be that the delta wave has passed by the time it is cold enough to make outdoor lunch unfeasible, which in DC rarely happens until Thanksgiving or later. That is a problem that might resolve itself. Is Bancroft doing tents? How will they handle inclement weather right now? That is a much more important question at the moment. |
Stoddert. Avoiding using cafeteria at all
Shepherd has just switched from cafeteria to classrooms, which is at least some improvement. No word on outdoor though. We would love it if they went that route.
We have heard NOTHING from Janney. Why?
