Never mind - this is no longer on their website/calendar and wasn't noted in the email so I guess not happening...assuming I didn't miss something...

I noticed it was removed from the website at some point over the weekend.

I would hope so! They have a large campus that isn’t shared with DPR or anyone else. I was jealous of those outdoor classrooms last spring. So great

Deal is doing indoor cafeteria lunch in 20-minute shifts, with assigned seats. I know it is very difficult to cope with the number of kid that they have. But this seems both miserable AND unsafe. I wish they would just use the very large park across the street, where everyone could eat outside. Probably they can't, because they are expected to surveil all 1200 kids and prevent them from running away at all times. In my day (the olden days), middle and high schoolers were just expected to not run away during lunch and did not have to be monitored every second of the day.

I think you answered your own query.

Tonight they confirmed they are working on an outdoor lunch option to be relayed in further detail this week which is positive...

Eaton is doing outside for 1-5 (for as long as weather permits). Pk and K are in classroom, but they are working on getting them outside too, but still figuring out logistics.

Because school starts on 8/30? Just because they haven't communicated the plan with parents doesn't mean that plans aren't being made.

Why would they wait so long to communicate with parents knowing how anxious so many are? Other schools have been able to tell parents something (see PPs).

I don't think the fact that parents are anxious means the school needs to announce anything (though now, of course, they have announced it). It's not like you have to decide whether to send your kids or not based on what the lunch plan is.
