My husband and I haven't taken a vacation in two years (since our actual honeymoon). We were thinking of doing a babymoon in the fall (I'm due in January) but I don't feel comfortable flying with all the stuff going on with Delta. I guess we can wait another month before planning anything in case anything changes, but if anyone has any ideas for a babymoon within driving distance, I'd appreciate it.
Note: No need for comments (1) suggesting I'm being too cautious and saying I should just fly somewhere or (2) complaining that "babymoons" are such a millennial thing. |

Check this thread - not babymoon specific but good nearby suggestions.

| We did ocean city. |
| +1 for St Michaels |
Depends on what you're looking for...some options are Asheville (long drive but doable; good food and hiking); Richmond VA; dinner/ weekend by the Inn at Little Washington; Philly; NYC (maybe stay on the Brooklyn side and walk around the park, Botanical Gardens, etc and eat outside); Hudson River Valley (good food, outdoor art at Storm King, decent hiking). I'm not really into Shenandoah/ WV (hiking is ok but pretty hot in summer, food isn't great, lots of confederate flags/ signage that is not welcoming for families of color, and vax rates are really low) or Eastern Shore beaches, but YMMV. |

My husband turned 40 when I was 8 months pregnant with baby #3. I gave him a list of places within a 4 hour drive for a weekend trip to celebrate. He picked Charlottesville - he had never been there before - I had only been there as a kid.
It was about two years after we moved here is why we hadn’t been there yet. |
| Are you vaccinated? I would do a luxury cabin Airbnb getAway if not vaccinated otherwise a big city may be nice |
Op here. I'm vaccinated but would still prefer to practice social distance for now, so I wouldn't want to go to a big city. Leaning towards the cabin route. I think I would prefer a "resort" where we can still get dinner and potentially have some spa treatments. |
| Annapolis is nice for a weekend without kids. |
| We were thinking of going down to Williamsburg for a babymoon. I love walking around colonial williamsburg and there are some great restaurants/shopping. The spa at williamsburg is also really nice |
| Berkley Springs WV has a lot to offer. The area also isn't so into masking. We went in March, and the lack of masking caused me extra stress at the hotel and shops in town But, you could instead stay in a cabin, and there are outdoor places to enjoy. The spas situations were all well masked when we went. And the hot water bath spas were 102F, so just below the advised cutoff for pregnancy. It's also easy to sit on the edge. |
| We did Cape May. The Virginia Inn red cottage is lovely and close to everything. |
| If you want to do the spa thing Omni homestead or salamander .. maybe also look at Glen Gordon manor or the goldstone inn. Inn at Perry cabin was also a good suggestion. |
Chincoteague Island. Low-key. Quiet - things to do include beath, pony and bird watching, trails, boat rides... Not a crazy busy place. We went there for our first babymoon in 2019 and have been back every year since with our kids
