My husband and I haven't taken a vacation in two years (since our actual honeymoon). We were thinking of doing a babymoon in the fall (I'm due in January) but I don't feel comfortable flying with all the stuff going on with Delta. I guess we can wait another month before planning anything in case anything changes, but if anyone has any ideas for a babymoon within driving distance, I'd appreciate it. Note: No need for comments (1) suggesting I'm being too cautious and saying I should just fly somewhere or (2) complaining that "babymoons" are such a millennial thing.
Depends on what you're looking for...some options are Asheville (long drive but doable; good food and hiking); Richmond VA; dinner/ weekend by the Inn at Little Washington; Philly; NYC (maybe stay on the Brooklyn side and walk around the park, Botanical Gardens, etc and eat outside); Hudson River Valley (good food, outdoor art at Storm King, decent hiking). I'm not really into Shenandoah/ WV (hiking is ok but pretty hot in summer, food isn't great, lots of confederate flags/ signage that is not welcoming for families of color, and vax rates are really low) or Eastern Shore beaches, but YMMV.
