Congratulations. |
| Looks like most other top schools in the area. What's the big deal? |
|
Great job, kids. No Duke? Interesting. Lots of future Hoosiers. I'm not surprised that Indiana is getting very popular.
More than a few Vandy and Dartmouth. HPYS too, nice work. |
| Four MIT. |

I’m most struck by the number of kids going to better public schools. The numbers are from memory, so some may be off, but these alone account for about a quarter of the class. Ivy admissions account for about 5 % of the class.
UMD - College Park (20+) UVA (8) Virginia Tech (5) Wisconsin (15!!) Michigan (8) UNC (5) Indiana(8) UC -SB (5) |
| very impressive, compared to where some are paying 30K plus a year and all they come out with is anxiety and depression! Not just saying. |
It's so great to be able to get that at Whitman for free! |
So many Wisconsin for a Maryland public school! That was surprising to me. But I wonder if most kids choose not to report to this public site? It seems like this wouldn't appeal to kids who value their privacy. |
This looks comparable if not better than the Sidwell list posted. |
Looks like about 2/3rds of the class is counted. Bethesda magazine will have a more complete list. I think Wisconsin and Indiana are the new Michigan. My DCs Whitman class had 15-20 go to Michigan but it's become so much more competitive the numbers have dropped a lot. |
Celebrate the kids’ accomplishments. Don’t be so sour and bitter on private school kids. Do better. |
We get the same depression and anxiety for free. |
| Whitman is hardly free. |
| I’ll admit that it’s a very impressive list. No other non-magnet public school in the DMV compares. Well over 20 admissions to the Ivies, Stanford, and MIT. You won’t find that at Langley or McLean. No way. |
It's better than magnet programs like IB at RM, given that the latter is a test in program from the whole county. And better than Blair with three to MIT. For comparison, Blair sent two to MIT who won national prizes in sciences. |
