In an email sent to all student athletes, APS is now requiring daily testing.
"As we begin the fall season, in order to ensure our teams can continue uninterrupted the entire season, we are asking all student-athletes and coaches, regardless of vaccination status, to participate in daily COVID rapid testing. This will give assurance to all those involved and allow for no masks during practice and competition." We are doomed. My money is on returning to hybrid. Time to move. |
Why? Because of daily testing? I would think that would be helpful, not harmful. Don't schools have to provide 5 days in person now per VA law? |
How is this a return to hybrid? If anything, rapid testing is taking place so that APS can keep their doors open.
Good for them. |
Idiot OP. The more testing and isolating, the less viral spread, and the more chances schools can stay open. Are you also sabotaging us by not wearing your mask indoors and in crowds? If you are, then you are your own worst enemy. |
Can you be any more dramatic? Rapid testing is a good thing. Hope APS implements it across all schools, and not just student athletics. |
As long as the rapid testing doesn't result in false positives. |
I now know of five people personally who have had breakthrough COVID, despite being vaxxed.
One of them is a teacher. |
So they're testing athletes but they won't test regular students? Interesting. What if the student has a mask exemption? |
yeah haven't you heard, sports are more important than school, so we'll use all our money on testing for athletes and let the regular students get covid. |
x1 million This is the testing that we needed upfront. |
Yes, exactly. |
Why just athletes? |
They’re putting their money where the risk is. The majority of cases/breakouts last year were related to sports. Not just APS sports, but travel programs, rec, etc. |
Any minute now, you’ll be accused by an idiot of being a liar. Ignore them. |
They're the ones most in need of avoiding masks. |
