Were they playing down from a higher level team? If so: highly unethical and most people would avoid a coach with such questionable morals.

Did he bench the girls on the team and play the ringers in order to win 8-2? Yes, yes he did. Again, highly unethical.

Is he coaching next year for GFR?

team couldnt even field a full roster for ncsl games without guests. lower age GFR teams were in different tournaments this weekend. most guests were GFR B team players because these C team kids were begging for a tournament even though only 1 or 2 are returning to travel soccer.

correct - they wanted one last tournament and knew there would be guest players so this complaining about it now is silly ,they only had 4 players rostered for the spring season. of course they were going to need guests.

So all these extra players WERE on the official roster submitted to the tournament?

That doesn't match what the parent described. Sounds like damage control by GFR to cover up cheating and bad behavior by their coach.

How do you know?

Only the team manager and the coach would know who was on the official roster submitted to the tournament weeks ago.

+1 what I really want to know is who thought it would be a good idea to post the trophy pic and edit the ringers faces lol

If the guest players were all on the official roster, then the club wouldn't have erased them out of the photo.

+1. Are you the team manager, or the coach?

I have nothing against GFR and my kids don't play there, but this was a colossally stupid thing to do. From bringing in gobs of ringers and benching the kids on the actual team, then editing the ringers out of the photo (almost certainly because they weren't on the tournament roster, no other reason to do that), then changing the photo on SM, then lying about the whole situation). Wow.

Also, at least on got sport, the tournament website shows them losing the finals 8-2, not winning. Not my team but if true conflicts with the narrative pushed above…

they didn’t- someone used AI and altered EVERYONE. original pic is up. and the guests were on the roster- and ref checked it at check-in. My DD was one who could only play today and was rostered on last day allowed by tournament weeks ago.

one of the ringers posted the original team photo with medals on their instagram and it is different then the one the official gfr page posted. Both pics have 12 girls in the photo but 3 of the faces were changed to different players from what I could tell before gfr took it down. This is awesome and just what GFR needed lol...I wonder if PA has any idea because it seems like the inmates are running the asylum
