Kushner, Manafort and Don Jr. met with a Russian lawyer with Kremlin ties during the campaign

So it really isn't worth arguing about. The GOP clearly wants to turn the US into a White, Christian Autocracy with the Trump family as our monarchy.

Just embrace it.

+1. Have many truly, truly become so hyperpartisan that this meeting and it's intent is excusable?

Do the defenders here at least agree it should be investigated further?

While I don't think this scandal automatically means every single member of the Trump campaign was and Trump Admin are purposely colluding to bring down America as we know it, I do think this adds very strongly to the rationale for investigating these matters and these people and I continue to be shocked that people are defending DJT Jr's into the ground.

This is fishy.

Everyone is linked to the Pissgate scandal. Please.

Now, if the lawyer was allowed into the country for a particular reason, and she worked outside of that authorization, does that make DJT Jr's "I love it" okay somehow? No, it doesn't.

It is okay legally, he broke no laws.

Furthermore it's a crime to let someone in without a visa. The....not long afterwards she meets with Bill on the tarmac to talk about golf and stuff?

Not likely.

That will be determined.

But it was a scummy, anti-American thing to do. Anyone of decency would say "I love this country more than I hate my opponent" when offered dirt on the opponent dug up by another nation that is trying to influence an election, especially one like Russia.

The Trumps have no decency, no moral compass. You cannot deny that in light of this story.

Cmon you know any Dem candidate would have JUMPED at the opportunity for dirt. They are all corrupt. It's hard to get too worked up about this.

No, not true. Look at the Gore campaign and the Bush tapes. There are many people with ethics and morals... they just are in the Trump family or part of the GOP.

History suggests otherwise, e.g., when Gore received Bush debate prep tapes.

Not to mention you seem to be saying that it's okay to do what Jr and the Campaign did, because "you know" others would do it to. Not a valid defense of his actions.

No, I don't know that. The Gore campaign called the FBI when someone sent them Bush's debate book. As they should have. As any campaign professional knows should be done.

Not only that, but the person who watched the tape to see what it was recused himself from Gore's own debate prep.

Seriously. One of the things my parents always taught us was that just because other people are doing it, doesn't make it right for us to do something that is clearly wrong. Have we lost all sense of morality that people no longer believe this?

That's the problem- there was nothing "professional" about the Trump team. Easier to feign ignorance later on.

Certainly plenty of people are arguing that he's been incredibly honest and transparent by showing the emails himself (after being cornered by a news outlet who was going to release them). They seem to be forgetting the many months of denials - by him and others - leading up to that.

And she overstayed her Visa - it was six months expired when she pulled this little stunt with Jr.
