You are a little uptight. You went to a women's college and met your DH at a wedding. You were stressed about the wedding, because you didn't have a date, and you really wanted to dance at the reception, but not just with a bunch of other women. In the end, you and DH bonded over helping to hand out cake, and you sat in the corner and talked for a long time. You never danced together, which is good, because in fact neither of you are good dancers. You majored in education but didn't really want to teach - you just wanted to have kids. You taught 3rd grade for three years and it was a drag - you were sick a lot and you hated dealing with the parents. You quit working after Grace was born. You and DH live in Loudon county and he commutes in to Tyson's for his job w/a govt contractor. You made baby food from scratch for Grace and Clare but you've definitely found it harder to keep up that kind of thing for Ann, since Clare is such a difficult toddler. You are a consummate volunteer - but a little too controlling and sometimes there's friction with the other moms. You are very aware that DH wants sex way more than you do - you'd be perfectly content with once or twice every couple of months. You wear capris and sweater sets and have lots of different themed flags that you hang from the front porch. Your least favorite is DH's Virginia Tech flag, which he nags you to hang all through the fall. |
You had Kyler in your mid 20s and Ryan at 29. They are both in elementary school now and your family enjoys spending time at Great Wolf Lodge. Your husband played in a garage band in his early 20s, but hasn't touched his guitar in a few years. You work in human resources at a small company and are solidly middle class. Your marriage is passionate - both is good and bad ways. There's a fair amount of yelling, but you do your best to shield the boys from it. You're from the area and have a close circle of friends and family. You are still good friends with your gang from high school but secretly jealous of the one who have daughters. |
You are extremely detail-oriented and precise about things. Hence your need to tell us that Hope is a girl... |
| Certainly is a lot of TV watching and cheap novel reading on this site. |

DD: Hope
You have an apron collection, but hate baking. You volunteer at the church nursery, but secretly hate kids, especially the ones with runny noses. Hope is an only child and you claim to want more, but you really don't and whenever anyone asks you tell them: "It's in God's hands". You loved reading Gone Girl, Hunger Games, and the Twilight series but you would never admit that to your church friends. You sneak cigarettes and Tastykakes. You wish you had dated other men before marrying your husband and sometimes fantasize about having an affair, but would never act on that. |
You live on Capital Hill and put a lot of thought into which stroller you should purchase. Ciara is in a nanny share, and Ronan's at a decent school, but in a couple years you'll probably consider moving to the burbs (but feel a lot of angst about it). Husband works for Dept of Justice and you're a lawyer at a non-profit. Neither of you grew up here but given your jobs, you'll probably be settling in DC for the long-haul. Before the kids came along, you used to go out to eat all the time and enjoyed long Sunday morning runs along the Tidal Basin. You kept that up with Ronan, but once Ciara came along it became a lot harder to maintain your social life with your childless friends. You still enjoy your weekly yoga classes though, and sipping a good glass of sangria on an outdoor patio. |

the bolded is the only correct part, but man, what a life! |
You started going to sleep-away camp when you were eight and eventually became a camp counselor at the camp. You signed your kids up for the same summer camp and were convinced that they would eventually love it, but they never did. Sara is now in social work school and focused on helping abused kids, but you worry that she will never be able to really support herself and that she will get overwhelmed by all of the depressing stories. You hope she will eventually just meet a nice guy, get married, stop working and have a few kids. Kari dropped out of college to backpack around Europe. You told your friends you admired her spunk, but it actually made you a nervous wreck and you started to wonder if she might be a lesbian. Your husband stopped sending her money and she eventually came back home. She is living with you right now while she tries to "figure out her life". You are relieved that she occasionally goes on dates with guys she meets at the coffee shop where she works part-time. Luke is in college. He seems to be enjoying it and is considering medical school. You are proud of him and think he will be the most successful of your three children. Your husband works long hours and you spend a lot of time by yourself. You would never admit to anyone that you read/post on DCUM, but it makes you feel a little less lonely and you like giving advice. You wanted your daughters to have unique names so you decided to tweak the spelling |

You live in North Chevy Chase and spend your afternoons shuttling Madeline to ballet classes, soccer practice, and pottery while Owen whines for more goldfish in the back seat of your Volvo. Your summer will be spent at the pool each morning while Madeline does swim team practice and Owen begs to get in the water, too. You will feel guilty about the amount of tv the kids will watch during the summer months. In August you will spend a week at Bethany Beach and wonder why you do this every year. You would rather be spending a week in France. You belong to a book club that drives you crazy because the books rarely get discussed, but you it makes you feel superior to the other moms who whine about the effort it takes to read one book a month. You used to enjoy watching foreign films, but now you can't stay awake to finish them. You shop at Chevy Chase Market and feel good about supporting a local business, but you were thrilled to hear that a Harris Teeter is being built in Bethesda. |
Mom of Alexander and Christopher from page..29 or 30?. Anyway, this part fits me. Oh, and the Volvo, too. You're channeling too many names!

You were less than thrilled when it turned out you were having a second boy. You always wanted a boy named Connor, were perfectly contented with your perfect little man, and were annoyed that you had to come up with another boy name. Now it turns out that Rider has peanut allergies and you are at your wits end. Your mother offers all kinds of unsolicited advice from afar and DH's parents just don't get it. You're really worried that Rider also will turn out to have ADHD and then both sets of parents will drive you nuts on a whole new level. You live in Silver Spring, work at a law firm (but you're not a lawyer), and really wish you had a more creative side. You vacation in the Outer Banks with your parents and your sister's family, and host your IL's every year for Thanksgiving. The logistics of all of this is getting more and more difficult to manage and you keep trying to figure out a way to do things differently. You're a little bit on the loud side, a little overweight, and constantly a little annoyed with DH that he doesn't help out more around that house and that, frankly, he doesn't really inspire that little spark of passion that you used to feel for him anymore. |
| what??? Harris Teeter is coming to Bethesda??? |
You live in a townhouse in Rockville. Your husband is a nurse in the Navy and you are proud of being a military wife, but you hate being so far from family and friends in Missouri. You have a blog where you post cute pics of your boys and occasionally post recipes that you think your sister would like. You are addicted to Facebook and DCUM and feel the need to compulsively check both sites multiple times a day. You worry about getting sent over seas and would rather have your husband deploy, than have to think about moving to a foreign country. You schedule family photos in early Fall and color coordinate outfits so they will be perfect for holiday cards in December. You are kind and helpful, especially to the elderly woman in the unit two doors down. You volunteer in your sons' classrooms and enjoy taking your kids to the movies, but you did not like the recent Oz movie. Your boys are a bit rambunctious, but respectful and they only occasionally bicker which is a relief since you and your sister fought like cats and dogs when you were growing up. You will do a road trip this summer to visit your husband's family in Kentucky and your family in Missouri, but you are really looking forward to the Thanksgiving trip to Orlando which will be a surprise for your kids. |
