Are any other clubs this bad? $625 and we have had two practices so far and one game (that was almost canceled until parents complained and salvaged; and the coach wasn't there and the sub was late). They said practices would start week of June 7 in the promo materials and packet but didn't actually start until week of June 21. That's four practices down from what was promised. We got two practices and then the last three practices have been canceled (two for heat, one for rain). No effort to makeup. No uniforms they said we'd get.
Halfway through season and we have had a whopping two practices. For $625 .... and there's 20 girls on the roster for 9 v 9. What a ripoff money grab. I had heard Super Y has some issues like this, but this is just absurd. |
| The number of players is always high due to vacations and summer heat and need for subs. Who is the coach |
This is not a league issue but a club issue. If you were promised a certain number of practices that is a legitimate complaint to take to the club but it is not a "Super Y" thing. That said, it can be challenging getting practices rolling at this time of year regardless so clubs just should not promise more than they can realistically deliver. |

| Lol why did you add “BSC” to the title? |
I'm not sure how you think you are halfway through the season. Based on the schedule, there has been only three weeks of play, if that. I think part of the problem is that the regular season for at least one team just ended last weekend. |
Sorry if not clear, I absolutely know not Super Y issue. Directed at BSC and the lack of practices. Maybe even disparity within BSC if other teams are getting more. |
Because it's BSC that takes the money and controls the practice schedule. |
| I don't know why they are calling off practice due to the "heat". Practices should be scheduled either early in the morning or in the evening. Tell everyone to bring water and on really hot days, they can modify practice so there is less cardio (no scrimmaging, athletic training, etc.). If a club says they are practicing anytime between 11a - 6p in the summer, they need to put in a caveat about possibly cancelling practices. Thunder/lightening is out of their control, but it does suck that they don't try to reschedule. |
I think the previous poster was trying to say that in general super y is a ripoff. |
If practices are supposed to run from June 7 through first week of August, it is halfway through. Most of the parents care more about the practice time. We have had 2 out of 9 practices that were supposed to happen by now. |

FYI, DG was at Regionals last week. KL is at ECNL Playoffs since last week. Last I checked, nobody can tell the future.
We have 5 teams in our league. No games have been cancelled and it sounds like you were one of the lucky ones that got to play up with 09s. Unfortunately that was a blowout loss. My advice to you is let it go. We learned the hard way about Super Y in the past and had no expectation whatsoever when we signed up this year. On the bright side, at least you know not to sign up next year. |
| I would talk to the club. We have had a number of games moved around, but nothing cancelled. We've also had all of our practices (2 per week). We have a roster of 21 for 11 a side, which seems reasonable in light of vacations etc. There is only one game where we have too many players (more than 18) commit so I think most people will get to play in the games that they want to/are able to attend. I'm reasonably satisfied. |
oh and high school boys soccer is starting up this week. So DG will be busy with that now. |
| I would agree $625 per player is crazy. If you have 20 players thats $12500.00 per team. after league fee , field space (thats discounted with multiple teams in the club) coaching fees, officials. That still reaches in a very healthy profit. Where is that money going? |
