BSC Super Y ripoff

Wow how large is your roster? Understand if its your core team with a few extras. You cant expect your core team to sit out only the add ons. Loyalty to your core teams has to come first. If not Im sure a lot of girls will up and leave the club over something so petty like over rostering for $$$.

Well, no, we all paid the same so why should one player get rostered over another? Anyhow my daughter is only in town for 4 games the entire summer so she will play in all the games she is here for. Works fine for us. Just an extra way to keep playing soccer this summer. Our club charge pretty low fees too, so we don’t feel it’s a money grab at the club level.

They said practices would start week of June 7 in the promo materials and packet but didn't actually start until week of June 21. That's four practices down from what was promised. We got two practices and then the last three practices have been canceled (two for heat, one for rain). No effort to makeup. No uniforms they said we'd get.

Halfway through season and we have had a whopping two practices. For $625 .... and there's 20 girls on the roster for 9 v 9. What a ripoff money grab. I had heard Super Y has some issues like this, but this is just absurd.

I'm not sure how you think you are halfway through the season. Based on the schedule, there has been only three weeks of play, if that. I think part of the problem is that the regular season for at least one team just ended last weekend.

Its halfway through because bsc documents say the first week of June through the first week of August. But practice didnt start until week 3. That's 2 practices and 1 game with a month left.

+1 Why dont they use sofive? Plenty of space available. Why dont they make up practices on different days of the week? Can they just cancel as many practices as they choose?

Our club is not taking it seriously. We are also with BSC and have had 2 practices for what was suppose to begin on June 8th.

The only thing BSC could have done differently is by having a coach fill in while DG and KL had obligations to it’s Club teams. Probably the most ironic thing is the low turnouts at the practices that have taken place along with low numbers for game days.

Again, this must be your first rodeo with Super Y. We’ve done both Bethesda and Washington Spirit. Not impressed with either but it’s something for our girls to do.

As previous poster said, try another Club’s Super Y next year if you have high expectations.

IMO, seems this is just another thread to try and bash Bethesda’s name than anything else. You still have the rest of July and the beginning of August.

You have no idea what you are talking about. All of the teams started late and have been cancelled. Not just their two teams. This is a Bethesda iasue.

Probably because a lot of parents are still not willing to practice indoors.

We have 5 teams in our league. No games have been cancelled and it sounds like you were one of the lucky ones that got to play up with 09s. Unfortunately that was a blowout loss.

My advice to you is let it go. We learned the hard way about Super Y in the past and had no expectation whatsoever when we signed up this year.

On the bright side, at least you know not to sign up next year.

The whole universe rotates around DG and KL. The earth stops moving when these two Titans are not available.

Dave Greene is the best soccer coach in this area. Simmer down and you will be grateful your kid got to work with him. He is dedicated and if he couldn’t be there then there was good reason.

Hence, the world (or this area) stops rotating when he’s not around. LOL

BSC super y specifically isn’t A ripoff. Super Y as a whole is a rip off.

I am OP. Actually, I am a BSC parent frustrated by the constant administrative issues and cancellations. I am not a BSC basher. You really think having more than two practices is "high expectations" when they took $625? It seems to me they made a mistake putting DG and KL with the young girls. They don't have the time or bandwidth.

Ask the club if your player can join some practices with one of the other teams.
