https://mobile.twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/1410709115333234691 The comments are pretty negative, and I think they were really reaching here. |

"Reaching?"
How about totally tone deaf. And, incredibly misleading. Prices for everything has gone up - the only reason you might save a whopping 16 cents is because there was a meat shortage last year and prices were high. |
The commenters in the tweet thread are much better at assessing and communicating about the content of the tweet than I can. It’s funny, but also not funny. People’s lives and hardships are being trivialized with this; it’s insulting. |
|
This is as bad as this
|
| Amazing comments. There’s literally nothing this White House does right. |
| Why on Earth are people offended by this? Besides Republicans feigning offense like they did with Obama's tan suit, I mean. |
Disabled comments means something went very, very wrong, and the intended message fell flat or is outright being mocked. Political music videos are almost always a BAD IDEA. |
Lots of Biden voters in comments explain their reason for offense to this tweet. |
| It looks like the complaints are coming from the people who would complain about the administration no matter what it does. |
| Expect WaPo to have a multi-page story on Sunday replete with “experts” opinions on how consumers should invest their 16 cents and rich lefties celebrating. |
Rich righties will celebrate, too. Paying people poverty level wages can't be the only thing they celebrate. |
Complaining about student loans in response to the price of food essentially remaining stable since last year does not indicate that offense was taken. Have you visited Twitter before? It's very common for people to tweet complaints to politicians that have nothing to do with the original tweet. |
Hey GS-11 confidential assistant: You sound like an extreme partisan whose mind can’t get around the fact that NORMAL PEOPLE DONT CARE ABOUT 16 CENTS! This sounds like a Soviet bread line advertisement. “Look how great we are giving you absolutely nothing but higher prices and calling it a discount!” |
?? new poster here. Inflation is all a matter of cents per meal, cents per gallon, etc. |
