Brazilian Keratin Treatment post-period

If you had this treatment, was it really that bad to walk around with unwashed hair for three days?

I unfortunately have to schedule mine on a Monday so it would mean going to work with horrible hair.

Please share your experience!

Three days is NOT long. I only wash my hair every three days. Hair shouldn't be washed but every other or every three days anyways. Overwashing dries the scalp and hair and causes the scalp to overproduce oils.

You can use some baby powder on the roots to absorb the oil at the end of day 2 if it's getting really bad, but three days should be just fine.

I had mine done and I was worried about not washing for three days.It was totally worth it. The salon I went to told me to use dry shampoo if I needed to and I did on day three.
The salon is Lorraine Aprile salon in Old town if you go please tell them Charlie sent you. Their prices are great and they include the special shampoo and conditoner.
Good Luck

I thought that three days is long, so I would schedule it for the end of the week. Having said that, once the three days are over, you will LOVE it. I've had it done twice, and I can't wait to do it again. My hair is growing out at the roots - and the little pieces of "virgin" hair are sticking up and are all frizzy. It's a good reminder of what ALL my hair used to look like.

I would only do the Peter Coppola treatment. It's offered all over DC now.

So YES, do it on Thursday!

question, can you curl your hair if you want to after you've had the treatment? like with a curling iron etc? i really want to get it done, but i don't want to be locked into straight hair for when i want to look a little fancy.

Just wanted to report that I had it done and today is my first day post wash.

I SO LOVE MY HAIR NOW!

It looks amazing, if I do say so myself. It was beachy waves, the kind I always dreamed about but could never achieve. I used to have some kind of ringlets that would disintegrate into a frizzy mess.

This is so much better!

I did it over Christmas and I loved it. I did it on a Friday so I could spend the rest of the weekend indoors since my hair was looking pretty gross. I had the second treatment early Monday morning for work and man what a difference. I have extremely kinky kinky hair and my hair came out pin straight. And when I didn't blow dry it out I was left with soft curls. It was amazing. Sadly, I have not done it again for two reasons...it’s really expensive to only last 3 months (at least on me) and I really didn't have the patience to sit in a chair for 5 hours.

Just had the Coppola Keratin treatment today. my hair is fine very wavy and frizzy, that being said right now i am fearing that when it is washed in 72 hours it will not have any body at all, it is so stick straight I would never want it to be this straight. Please tell me when it's washed it will have more bounce and body.
Thanks, Paula

Mine regained waves as soon as I washed it. Three months later it's still wavy but not frizzy.

NP here. Can someone describe what exactly this is? I have very frizzy out of control hair that involves a lot of product. But I do not really want to go straight. Would love just to have some nice shiny curls/ waves. How much does it cost? If it last for only 3 months, can you just get it retouched after or do you need to sit though it all again? Does it damage your hair? Make it thinner? Thanks! Sorry to hijack!

I am on week five after having the Coppola treatment done and I like it. I use the word like because I had beautiful curls that became very frizzy so I thought I would have this treatment done to get rid of the frizz. Not only did it get rid of the frizz but it also got rid of the curls. I think I look fine with straight hair so not having the frizz this summer should be worth the sacrafice. The three days of not washing my hair was pure torture, my roots were very greasy and my bangs were stuck to my forehead. The first three weeks my hair was very shiny and great looking when I blow dryed it. I am on week five and I have gotten alot of frizz back in my hair already. I met with my stylist and she is going to redo it for free since it should last a lot longer. Good luck.

For those of you with very thick curly hair - what did it look like afterwards? Did it take some or all of the "pouf" out? Ideally, I would like to have completely straight hair without needing to blow dry at all - or at least no more than 10 minutes. Right now, my hair look great when I blow it straight but it takes me 45 minutes, so I never ever do it!
