Very much depends on the kid and the situation. Pros and cons to being the youngest player on an older team. Not much of a benefit during that 8th grade dead period. But definitely not the end of the world either. The way the rule is in place now basically no games for trapped 8th graders so at the very least their can be a window of time (high school season) where next years 11s can play actual games with the 2012s. |
I predict they will allow three trapped players to play down to compete against MLS biobanding. GA will do biobanding this fall as well. |
Sure…it’s not overplayed. But it is the only reason my all-star rec team player isn’t on YNT… |
Would not be surprised to see something like this. But everything they (ECNL and us club) say out loud is no changed until Fall 26. |
This has always been the allowance by ECNL for trapped players so it’s nothing new being introduced. |
GA doesn’t need bio banding because they generally play through high school season. |
| “Biobanding” has nothing to do with high school seasons, but RAE. You are talking about fake biibanding apparently |
The uq5-u19 ages do not play during the high school season in California. |
I meant this would be for all showcases not just when the high school season is taking place. Potentially league games as well and nationals, |
. This GA team parent was telling me that they played all year except for two weeks and they had a trapped player! Not all GA teams are in cali. |
The GA used to have a late developer rule but they got rid of it. Also u13/14 play year round u15-u19 do not. |
| Wagers on whether ecnl will allow a few trapped players across all age groups to play SY next year? Anyone? |
I would hope they do, otherwise what a wasted year it will be! |
| ⬆️ THIS |
I bet 3 Q3/Q4 players to play down by borrowing MLS biobanding playbook. GA will do the same. |
