They can if they want. MLS has allowed biobanding, so 3 players can play down in the younger group. I do not see USSF will raise any issues if ECNL copys MLS to allow 3 Q3/Q4 players to play down this coming fall.

If they are smart, ECNL will take advantage of that opportunity for its players and clubs.

ECNL admins already thinks they are the smartest and overall greatest people to walk the earth. They will make the change with everyone else because in their eyes they are the kings of this youth soccer world.

They don’t care about trapped players or anyone outside their bottom line.

The logic you had above shows you are a low IQ, middle age insecure bold man. Your kid will get bumped soon. You will know it in 2 weeks.

My daughter’s ECNL club director said ECNL will change Fall 26. We might see some flexibility with showcases and tournaments next year for trapped 8th grade players.

Pretty much a big chunk of youth soccer didn't like the switch from SY to BY in the first place. A lot of these problems were anticipated. Many are probably happy with the option to switch back and likely will do so. It also took awhile to switch last time, so it's also not surprising the same lag time is happening here and now. AND some DID switch early and so that also wouldn't surprise if that occurred again.

While not ideal, it's not the end of the world to be a trapped player. In some situations, it's actually an advantage, depending on the options available from your club and league.

Very true. I think the “trapped player” card is a little over played. But I also think if it can be fixed with SY it should be fixed.

Anyone who thinks the trapped player card is overplayed didn’t have one. But, whatever. 18
months and it’s fixed.
