The news will come out in 3 weeks. I bet the parents did not pay yet. We are all waiting for the ECNL release to plan the next move.

SD Surf doing tryouts this week for 2011-2016. As most of us know, tryouts are usually just a formality. 6 months to reconfigure teams if a change is made, shouldn't be an issue.

What?? ID camps are where the teams are made. By tryouts teams are already made..

Contd.. a few weeks after tryouts happen, offer letters are sent.. and that’s it. No changes after that.

As dumb as it is, ecnl isn’t changing for 25/26.

This has nothing to do with ECNL MLSN or GA.

SOCAL league teams start in Feb and ends in Nov. SD Surf is looking for youngers for their SOCAL teams.

Our ECNL teams seem to always be in flux and will add players to their rosters as needed. Not saying any changes will made but the clubs are fully capable of being nimble when it comes to roster composition.

Obviously low IQ, you have no idea on how ECNL works and how Surf ECNL team works. Every week, there will be a new player showing up in practice. Wait for ECNL to drop the bomb.

The player is called a "trapped" player because U15 club teams do not have a fall season, due to the fact that most players on a U15 team play high school soccer their freshman year

And in Virginia they don’t have a spring season because that’s when the public schools have high school soccer.

That's only for ECNL-RL and ECNL. GA plays spring games, I bet other leagues offer scheduling.

Bench BY parents will be disappointed

I wish that were true. The dumbest thing is playing on teams in 2025 that are going to be broken up by trapped players in 2026. But ECNL is not making changes next year. BY parents have one more year of NL before they get bumped to RL

I doubt that, because when the change is made, they’ll be q3/q4 players on the existing team who also shift down.

Also, since rosters are so big, I gotta believe any kid on an existing team will stay as long as the parents pay. I mean if they aren’t starting now and ok with it.

All rosters are different and my kids team has one trapped player and the team above has 5, so 4 players in that specific group will get bumped. They have a year to develop, so who knows which 4 it will be

And that doesnt even count kids from other programs looking for a better team.

Major changes coming.

ECNL needs to rip the bandaid and make the changes in 2025.
