Does anyone never/rarely clean their house?

Or hire cleaners?

If so, have you experienced any problems?

I loathe cleaning the shower/tub, and have gone 1-2 months without a scrubdown.

But pretty much everything else, I clean at least once a week if not more. I don't mind it, and I love having a clean house. Plus we have a cat.

If you’re using the rooms, it’s not good for your mental health.

I don’t think the OP was talking about you.

Yup. We pick up and delcutter. Cleaning lady comes 1ce a month. I may get a mopping in between. I clean the kitchen counters etc since i cook a lot. Otherwise its not a priority. Its dustier than i should be but we are happy.

I straighten but I don’t clean. I’ll vacuum when I notice dog hair and wipe down counters if I spill. Cleaning ladies come 1x per month to dust and scrub.

Never AND not have a cleaning service? No.

But I haven’t cleaned any of our homes our entire 10 year marriage. Not a single time.

I barely ever clean. I used to, but just kind of gave up. No, nothing bad happens.

Never clean your house, and also never hire cleaners? How does that work? Your house will eventually become disgusting.

All of these posters saying that they never clean but have cleaners come every few weeks don't seem to have any reading comprehension skills.

To answer the actual question, I have been to the house of a single mom I know through work who works 60+ hours a week and I highly doubt cleans. The house just felt gross to be in. I was there maybe 5 years ago and distinctly remembers the baseboards which were all caked with dirt and dust. I don't know how people live like that.

I had to deal with the house of a relative who died who had been unable to clean for quite some time (and who wouldn’t let anyone in to help) and it is incredible how much filth had accumulated. This person was single, and had no pets, but the dust and grime just add up over time. If you live in a place for years, it will get disgusting if you never clean.

I have a cleaning service every two weeks and vacuum at least every other day, but when I mop the floor in between cleanings, I can’t believe how dirty the mop water is. It’s just from people and dogs coming and going from outside. You might be able to get away with it if you live in a high rise condo, but the floors of a house needs to be cleaned, not to mention the bathrooms.

You're seriously judging a single mom with a demanding job for not cleaning her house to your satisfaction?

Np cleaners cost like $100-200 per month. Loosen the purse strings!

i mean, in my 20s. in my 30s, my spouse came with a family housecleaner, so now someone comes once a week or so.

my place would slowly just become a cluttered dusty mess, and then once a year i'd spend days cleaning and shoving things in closets if i had someone over. i also rarely cooked, which helped?
