Forfeit/no show at tournament

Our opposing team was a no show yesterday. What on earth would cause a team to forfeit in a tournament? So rude and unprofessional.

Got lost? Kids got sick? Car accident? Got the time or place wrong. Lots of things.

If your team would have to come from significantly out of state and is getting destroyed because they’re were placed in a bad bracket, I can totally understand it.

I know of multiple teams that had serious injuries yesterday with players who will now be out the rest of the season. Coaches may have concerns about safety, so why take a risk if you’re not going to advance?

Covid has done this at past tournaments. Especially of a sibling, etc.

If a team is not going to show for a game, the courteous thing to do would be to notify the other team's coach or manager to let them know, so they do not waste their time.

If this the boys side on Virginian Tournament, one team was miscommunicated about the time of the game and they were on the way when they got a message the game was scheduled 2 hours before and they didn’t show.
