| How many ECNL clubs are switching to GA for 2025? |
The runors that folks have thrown around are ECNL to GA/MLSN I and/or II: NVA McLean GA to ECNL: NEFC Lou Fusz Galaxy SC Indy Premier Tophat None of this has been confirmed or fact. |
I believe that a big group will do or has done a package deal with MLSN + GA. This is because from a negotiating perspective a group has more leverage than an individual. Also again from a negotiating perspective the first ones in will have more value than the last. |
I agree with this, but I believe ECNL still has a stranghold on some of the highest ranking clubs. Who knows what they are holding as leverage these days for clubs to stay in tact. |
There's probably hesitation to get involved the US Soccer again after DA blew up. What makes MLSN work over ECNL is MLS is involved via homegrown players. NWSL isn't involved with youth soccer in any way shape or form. With the girls playing in college is the highest level. Which is something ECNL or more specifically top ECNL clubs are very good at making happen. |
| Are we due for a new ecnl podcast? Did they skip their biweekly episode? |
It's out and informative. If you think ECNL and US Soccer are at odds, you would be wrong. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with, I believe with the World Cup coming to town in '26 the US could see a big shift in soccer, which seems necessary, especially after following this thread. |
Yes, the World Cup. In which all those national teams are first formed by…..Birth Year. |
| Link for podcast please |
Not even rumors. The GA to ECNL is a wishlist for ECNL hats. |
Good for them, I'm glad the US is choosing to chart its own course and seems to have the right people in place to make progress on the international stage. |
