Your risk model has gone crazy .. risk reward with virus is negative my friend |
are you walking around with you head under ground? Numbers speak volumes. 5.2 mil dead world wide and over 800 thousand in US. Unless you are one of those conspiracy theorist who think that media and government is manipulating numbers to get chips in our hand |
Are you saying there is no risk associated with the virus that you'd take? This makes little sense to me. |
So happy we got such effective vaccines in such a short time. So happy my kids are back in school. So happy I can hug my parents again. |
Those who are unwilling to avoid COVID risks are irresponsible to say the least causing avoidable harm to themselves, their families and everyone else around them. Though their numbers are going down slowly |
nothing works 100% at this point against virus and varients. Layered approach is required. Vaccines + Masks + social distancing together sort of helps to a great extent keeping people safe. But how many do you see wearing masks now? |
This is the Montgomery County (Maryland) Public Schools forum. Masks are required in school. Masks are required in public indoor places. Where are you posting from? |
In the real world, not on anonymous DCUM, I think there's a widespread understanding that each risk is actually part of a risk-benefit calculation. For example, an older person was telling me the other day that they're forgoing indoor visits with friends and eating in restaurants, but they're not forgoing a flight across the country to meet a new grandchild. It made sense to me, and I think it would make sense to most people. As for school, the benefits of being in school are so huge, it's clear (at least to me) that most kids should have been back in school in August 2020, at the latest. |
99.9% of people who contract Covid are fine. I think you're the one who doesnt have any mathematical sense |
We're talking about the Omicron variant. Keep up |
I love when people pull imaginary numbers and add a % with no clue what that means and apply that to COVID situation. Interestingly they beleive that everyone else will believe their imaginary numbers as well for some reason |

Covid explosion in MCPS is imminent if this turns out to be true:

Did you read the article you linked to? The whole thing? Including this final part? The bottom line: "Frankly we don't have enough reliable, robust data at this point to give a clear direction as to what this will look like in the weeks to months ahead," said Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. |
So omicron causes more sickness in kids than delta. |
Here is the quote: "They found children had a 20% higher risk of hospital admission than they did from previous variants." |
