Is it the cons who keep pushing it, or the Bernie Bros? I thought it was more the latter, though I know sometimes they can merge into one toxic borg |
From the sheer stupidity of the comments I’m guessing mainly cons. But you’re right, there may be a few Bernie Bros here. |
There really isn't anything they can bring up that doesn't backfire: womenizer dotard/senile/age rule of law fiscal responsibility nepotism/China even "socialism" - the GOP has failed at every level to be able to be aggressive in combating Biden. |
Apparently several people have requested the docs and are investigating further. Looks like Reade committed check fraud in July, it was discovered and the charged was filed on August 2, and she left her Senate job on August 8. The fact that charges were filed signals intent, not just a check bouncing. |
A Washington Post reporter is looking into the check fraud thing. |
Why would she lie? Why? What possible reason is there for her to go through this hell? Her whole life has been ruined. She's dealing with constant death threats. Do people realize how rare it is for somebody to make up charges likes this?
Again, why would somebody lie about this? |
She’s from the Bernie wing of the Dem party and wants the Dems to dump Biden for Bernie. Or the old-fashioned reason, $$$. Or attention-seeking. |
Feel free to speculate along with me, but she has a long history of needing money - the bounced checks, the go fund me sites, the fraud against the nonprofit. I wouldn’t be shocked if there was a financial incentive involved. Also, Chuck Todd just released a clip of her interview with Megyn Kelley (who, conveniently, doesn’t work for a news organization with editors and fact checkers, unlike Chris Wallace and Don Lemon who had interviews scheduled with her until she canceled them due to “death threats.”) In the clip, she asks Biden to step down. She’s been a Bernie fan for several years, and all the Bernie people on twitter who are lapping up her story seem to think that if Biden steps down that Bernie would get the nomination. |
And, if she was released because of check fraud, wouldn't the people working in his office at the time who have been interviewed by media remember this? Something smells fishy about the check fraud story. |
Of course, speculation is what people here do more than anything else. Forget facts. Did Chuck Todd speculate too? They are great at that over at MSNBC. |
On Twitter there’s a screen shot of the charge against her, the dates match up and the crime code is for fraud. Now a screen shot isn’t evidence, I agree. But apparently several reporters are investigating. So stay tuned, I guess. |
It's rare, but it does happen. In this case, she seems to be a disgruntled Sanders supporter. In some cases, the women are mentally unstable and so may be delusional rather than lying. I get that vibe from Reade, but of course that's pretty speculative. |
On the Media had a good and extended segment on the pressures politically progressive women are facing related to the Reade/Biden issue. OTM is a left outlet, but one that is willing to dig deep in their analysis: https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/otm/episodes/on-the-media-open-season |
Krystal Ball interviewed Reade 42 days ago and has been hammering mainstream neoliberals for their response to this matter. I admire the integrity of many on the left. |
