This is the typical Potomac parent bs. It's a different demo and applicant pool. Saints has similar constraints and it hasn't hurt them laxwise.

Saints absolutely don’t have similar constraints. The acceptance rate at SSSAS is significantly higher than at Potomac, Sidwell, etc

I’m a saints parents and agree with this - sssas admits girls who are strong young lax players in 5th and 6th who would never get into Potomac academically. I don’t know if Potomac may do the same - maybe they do - reduce their standards for lax girls. But there is no question these girls would not get into any of the schools mentioned based on academics.

No. Potomac does not do that. There are minimum academic requirements that Potomac won’t waive for an athlete. Too many kids get counseled out in 7th/8th as it is. However, all being equal academically, being a strong athlete can tip the scale to a kid getting in over another who isn’t.

That’s right, top academic schools just have a harder time doing well at lax. Look at the current top 20 D1 Women’s programs and you will see they have lower academic standards and easier admission rates:

Schools like Yale, Northwestern, Penn, Michigan, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame Virginia, Princeton, Brown. 🙄

Who won today's game between Potomac & SSSAS? Isn't that what really matters? After all, you're on the lacrosse forum. Take your college stuff over to the private school forum.

Sure thing. Sssas won.

What was the final score? Did Potomac ever end up subbing?

Makes sense that the SSSAS jocks would do well on the field. This year’s crop of airheads will attend Cornell, UVa, Howard, Mercer and Univ. of Chicago.

SJC vs Seton score?

What was the saints vs Potomac score?

12-7 maybe. Potomac started really slowly and had a hard time getting going. They did not look like they do in other games. Just an off day.

No doubt. Potomac should have won that game. Slow start cost them. Waited too long to get it in gear. Being down 12-5 with four ish minutes left in the game just too big of a hole. Potomac clearly has better athletes, but it’s hard to overcome a sluggish start like that.

SJC v. Seton 20-8. Bench played majority of the game. Senior starters and sophomore attacker in for first 2-3 minutes, then back in for maybe 10 min between all of them. Good play time for the bench and younger starters.
