What happened in the Ireton STAB game? Thought Ireton might show a little better. Didn't foresee them getting doubled up.

Game was within 2 goals for most of the game. Score was tied a few times. STAB pulled away in the last 6 minutes.

STAB got embarrassed by GC. Unfortunately, BI was the likely revenge recipient.

STAB may have gotten embarrassed by GC, but this game had nothing to do with revenge. STAB played two games this week before they doubled up Ireton this afternoon.

STAB aren't they 13-1 ? I think they will be ok .

But, still not enough. Because of minimal development, they don’t have anyone to sub. One girl plays every position on the field. GC and BI will wear them out because their goal will be to beat her down.

This game was too close because it was scheduled the day after the HC game. The reverse happened last year (SJC lost to HC the day after playing O’Connell). Teams with no little / no depth don’t fare well when they have to bounce back a day later. Note to coaches: don’t do this next year.

So the same girls that play 4-6 games a weekend in summer club lax tourneys can’t play back to back HS games? Snowflake comment.

From what I saw at the Holy Child game the York 25 recruit is definitely being underutilized. Played the entire 4th quarter which was the highest scoring qtr for SJC. Fast, good stick skiis and creates space for the D1 Seniors.

You're new to the sport so I'll go slow. Summer tourney games are 50 minutes running clock on short fields. High school games are 60 minutes non-running time on regulation-sized fields. There's more depth on the better club teams, which means more line rotations which means (I'm going as slow as I possibly can here for you) less playing time. Which ... means ... they're .. not ... as .. tired ... during ... summer ... tournaments. HS teams that don't have depth need the better players to play entire 60 minute non-running time back-to-back games. Those players will never be the same on day #2.

So you think playing against top, competitive teams it’s just super easy to play back to back, field, stop clock games? And you compare that to 21 minute running time travel games. You do understand there’s a difference, right?

I’m sure you’re an Iron Man triathlete so your opinion is probably right on the nose

And the teams with more depth can rest their studs for a few minutes here and there so they are fresher when it gets to crunch time late in tight games. It also gives time for a close conversation with the coach for any game-planning/ discussion that you wouldn't get if they don't come off of the field. Physical exhaustion messes with their mental game as well.

(Just so it's clear, I am agreeing with you 100%)

Add to that the fact that high school games are frequently rivalry games so the games can be more intense, and hence, more fatiguing.

And they are coming off of a full school day. Who knows what kind of stress they had during the day.

This is the typical Potomac parent bs. It's a different demo and applicant pool. Saints has similar constraints and it hasn't hurt them laxwise.

Saints absolutely don’t have similar constraints. The acceptance rate at SSSAS is significantly higher than at Potomac, Sidwell, etc

I’m a saints parents and agree with this - sssas admits girls who are strong young lax players in 5th and 6th who would never get into Potomac academically. I don’t know if Potomac may do the same - maybe they do - reduce their standards for lax girls. But there is no question these girls would not get into any of the schools mentioned based on academics.
