They are basically broke and had to take yet another loan from the Federation, they keep losing top teams and rumors there may be 2-3 more this cycle, and they are not even placing as many clubs in the top 100 as they did even a year or two ago. I feel like the distance between GA and ECNL is more than the distance between GA and ECRL right now and in a downward trend……..

Is it 2-3 or 5 clubs that are leaving GA? You guys are just throwing stuff and hoping it sticks

EmPeRiCaL DaTa, QuAntIfIAbLe TeRmS… take it easy, nerd. This is an anonymous forum. ECNL is for brand chasers. And the brand is dying on the vine. There is your data.

Tophat and NEFC are pretty much never getting ECNL.

Lots of information on that.

All rumors …

NEFC and TopHat were fully committed to the DA. When ECNL invited them to move their top teams to ECNL, both clubs declined.

After DA folded, ECNL denied them entry, likely due to their previous decision to reject the league. Now, rumors suggest that established ECNL clubs like FC Stars in Massachusetts and Concorde Fire in Atlanta have actively opposed their inclusion, potentially to limit competition.

It remains to be seen whether NEFC and TopHat will eventually join ECNL or continue focusing on the Girls Academy, especially as GA works to strengthen its league.

If that is all then this is nonsense.

GA did okay with the 2006s in recruiting -- not super but not bad. 2007s were bad and the 2008s are worse. Top teams are leaving. They are broke. There is no alliance worth anything with MLSNext.

The only reason anyone would go to GA now is because they prioritize the boys side. That is a good reason to do it. But do not kid yourself that GA will be great for those clubs. They will lose the top girls unless there is no ECNL team around.

Indy Premier has a chance to move their boys to MLSN. Doubt they want to move the boys to ECNL..

So many girl dad's that have no concept that clubs have BOTH boys and girls teams.

If you want to maximize the amount of money earned clubs need both girls AND boys teams involved in top leagues.

GA and ECNL girls are the same thing. ECNL has a few more top clubs, but the leagues themselves are roughly the same.

MLSN and ECNL boys are not the same MLSN is the top tier and ECNL is the 2nd tier. Basically with boys clubs make A LOT more money with MLSN than ECNL.

This is why MLSN partnering with GA is such a big deal. If clubs want MLSN they need to put their girls in GA. If clubs want to leave GA they'll get booted from MLSN.

Make sense now? It used to be that MLSN and GA ignored each other and ECNL would leverage ECNL girls + force clubs into ECNL boys. Now shoe is on the other foot and MLSN + GA are doing the same thing to ECNL clubs.

This is why you're not seeing any movement. The big leagues are playing chicken. But soon there will likely be a large block the goes to MLSN and GA at the same time. This is because clubs make more money with MLSN and GA
