Take a look at the NVA DCUM thread. Rumors are that both NVA and McLean are pulling out of ECNL and going GA. I know the McLean rumor is true but not sure about NVA.

Do you know an ECNL team can have up to 28 players? It is not difficult to add 3 Q3/Q4 players later.

BY parents are stupid. They have no idea that ECNL tryout is year around and team roster can be up to 28 players. Wait for ECNL to drop the bomb and new players show up.

What bomb is ECNL dropping? Encouraging clubs to fill 28 player rosters and allowing Q3/Q4 trapped players to play SY in 2025?

The parents on my daughter’s team would freak out if players couldn’t dress for games on a roster over 18 players

It's ONLY year around for players already outside ECNL. The reverse ALSO is true.

If the current team roster is 18, then yes, the coach has the flexibility to add 4/5 players through the season. Surf has 22/23 players in their girl's ECNL teams.

Wrong. Our ECNL player switched to another ECNL team in the middle of the season and then played against our team later.

Then you must have won the game. This isn't allowed.

Then, both clubs approved of the switch -- which usually doesn't happen without a legitimate reason. Say someone moves from one community to another. Regardless of league, players sign up for a season and can't generally switch clubs (unless it's a different league ... In theory a player could be rostered on a US Club and a USYS team, for example. This sometimes DOES happen and how some leagues try to recruit players).

Are club directors announcing Q3/Q4 bio banding efforts for 2025? Where is this info coming from?

An ECNL roster can have up to 30 players.

It is if the player/family moved.

In theory, even if NL team hits the cap, they can put the new player in the RL team and pull to play the NL game. A one-time "tryout" will not shut the door as the naive BY parents thought. Let's wait for ECNL's official press release.
