Is SolidCore worth the $30+++ per class?

I actually hear that it is. I've heard that it's the hardest thing people have ever done.

This is the new normal. All boutique classes will be $30-45 for 45-60minutes.

Try the Sweat app from Kayla Itsines before throwing down on boutique classes. Find something you like doing, but start with the cheaper apps like Sweat or Peloton.

Yes and no.

Pre-covid, I got really into it. The workout really is amazing, but it’s not cardio so you should plan on supplementing with a walking or running routine. For me, the only way I could justify the cost was to get the unlimited membership, but then I felt obliged to go at least 3 times a week to justify the expense. That led to overkill and left me feeling less excited about the class. The class packages are barely a discount and there is something frustrating about there being no middle ground for someone who can’t drop $40 per class. If you’re financially able to fund the habit guilt-free, then yes, it’s worth it. Personally, I’m staying away from indoor gyms until there’s a lot less community spread.

If it's the thing that gets you to work out, and you enjoy it, and you have the money, then sure it's worth it. The hard part of getting in better shape is not finding a modality that works, it's finding something you can stick to. If you want to build muscle and lose weight extremely effectively, count calories and lift weights. But a lot of people don't want to do those or can't stick to it who these kinds of classes work for. The energy, the instructor, the expense, the fact it feels really hard (even though feeling hard, with exercise, is a pretty weak proxy for how much progress you're making.)

Agree...I was into OTF but am weary to do a lot of cardio and move around spaces with masks/covid. But with OTF they said I’m low tone and need to do more on the floor part, higher weights. So thought maybe solidcore would be better for building muscle overall?
Plus seemed easier to stay on one machine and not get too winded in a mask.

I loved it pre-covid. I’m not comfortable going back yet. It’s a super tough workout. People are breathing hard in a small enclosed space. I miss it and hope to go back someday.

I will agree that it’s an incredible workout - I did it pre-wedding and was in the best shape of my life (it also helped fix some otherwise chronic issues like IT band stuff, presumably because I gained so much muscle). I also found it MISERABLE because it was so hard, but worth it for the results, so your mileage may vary. Also the owner is batshit - she compared herself to Rosa Parks when she got heat for blatantly ignoring COVID restrictions, if that’s something that you’d care about when deciding how to spend your money. (I do care, so will not go back.)

How #girlboss of her. She'll continue to wield the mighty social media post from there, though, and regale us with her thoughts on just about everything as she did previously, I'm sure...

Shrug. You may not like her but she is a literal girl boss and self-made millionaire in her 30s. She killed it.

And she verbally and sexually harassed her employees. Goals.
