I like it! It makes me think of Sydney Bristow from Alias. It also feels like it would be an easy name to grow into -- suitable for lots of different personalities.

My daughter has 4 Sydneys in her grade at her school. I guess my thought is that it’s very popular, or at least was a very popular choice around here several years ago.

All I can think of is the city. As a general rule, Paris, and Stockholm and all city names are out.
