For all the DCUMers who think Dynamite is an accurate representation of BTS

They just released a Japanese single "Film Out" that doesn't disappoint in terms of lyrics and musicality

BTS is one of the most clever artists I've ever seen -- their music videos (excluding Dynamite/other recent releases) follow an elaborate storyline and Film Out is the newest addition.

They are truly much more than just a factory-manufactured boy group.

As for the DCUMers who kept making fun of Dynamite's lyrics -- the song was only a test to see how they would fare in the American music industry with an all-English song. It definitely was not their best and they were aware of it.

Why is this in Japanese?
I think Dynamite was better.

It's for the OST of a Japanese movie.

Yes, Dynamite was good! It's just so many people think that it represents the entirety of their discography.

Japan has a huge media market and is very into KPop. BTS is huge there so they release albums in Japanese for their fans. Most of the BTS members speak Japanese too, and they have a lot of concerts and fan meetings there. (RIP Nagoya Jikook.)

Film Out is great! I love most of their Japanese songs. This video is great too, they look so beautiful. And the DNA HYYH parallels are intriguing, although I’m not that into the BU, it’s pretty complex.

I'm a fan of BTS, but I cannot stand their music in Japanese. I don't know why, but I refuse to listen to this unless it's in Korean.

My guess would be that the bts phenomenon has largely bypassed dcum...

New poster here. When I first saw the Dynamite video it was too effeminate for my taste, but then I listened to more of their music and their other videos and realized it was just a trend in the way Harry Style is wearing effeminate clothes these days. There is no way they are gay.

I’m late to the game but BTS is really quite an amazing group. All of them are supremely talented and just really polite sweet gentlemen. I’m glad to see them making a positive impact in the world. There are great artists out there but my gosh they are awful role models for young people and their lyrics are horrible as well.

Check out this lovely piece with Stephen Colbert:

No. There were some racists DCUMers that bombed the original thread so the DCUM admin had to lock it. Frankly, BTS is even more famous now than they were before the pandemic. The “BE” album has some grea tunes and their performance for the Grammys was fabulous. Someone has got to be living under a rock if they haven’t heard their songs at this point.

Honestly DCUM isn't really the BTS demographic target group. And by that I mean teenage girls.

I really wanted my parents to understand why NSYNC was the GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME AND THE MOST TALENTED EVER AND THEY REALLY HAVE AMAZING VOICES AND TALENT too.

And all of that was true! But there was still no way my parents were gonna care!

DCUM liking or not liking BTS shouldn't really matter to anyone, if anything DCUM not really liking it means they are more hip with the kids (which they are!)
