Is getting a Telfar bag weird if you’re white?

Anonymous
I heard about this brand recently and thought about getting a bag when they dropped more tomorrow. The brand is owned by a black, queer man. However, when I went on Twitter (not much into fashion) and searched the company, I saw that it’s a big deal in the Black fashion community. Would it be weird for me have one as a nerdy, white woman?

I have no idea since I am also a nerdy white woman, but I'm super not into logos, and I'd guess you can get something in a similar style minus the giant logo for less.

The company ethos is that it’s for everyone so shop your heart out OP!

I've been obsessing over this bag...excited for them to drop tomorrow (I'm a White woman, fwiw)

if you like it buy it. shopping a black owned business is a bonus.

Do people REALLY agonize over such questions?

Money has no color, OP.

So... POCs would prefer white people not to support their businesses?

I have this question too OP! I actually got one last year and I have nowhere to carry it yet but I'm a little nervous about it. I think it's fine though.

Do you always fall for simple shit so easily?

What do you mean you have nowhere to carry it? It's literally an everyday bag. You carry it to Target, grocery store, docs office etc

Are you always an obnoxious pest, or just on DCUM?

Specifically, what are you nervous about?

I looked at the bags on the link. Is it intentional for the T logo to appear as a keloid? Because if so, then it’s an interesting call out to a history of slavery. But if not, then, well...that’s an unappealing logo.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read on DCUM and that is saying a lot.
