Is getting a Telfar bag weird if you’re white?

Specifically, what are you nervous about?

That I’ll seem like one of those white people with a BLM sign but you live in Chevy Chase

This might be one of the most DCUM things I've read about one of the most DCUM things people do.

I don't think the issue people on Twitter is with whit people having the bag in and of itself. I think the issue is there is very limited stock and it's frustrating for white people to get them and/or buy extra and resell for a profit in a low-supply high-demand market.

Same spirit as white folks going to a Safeway in Ward 7 to get a COVID vaccine when lots of black and brown folks are playing by the rules and waiting their turn or can't get appointments.

Just...maybe wait until the supply ramps up if you don't want to be criticized for jumping too aggressively on the bandwagon of something that isn't really cool for you to jump on yet?

Seems like you’re uninformed as to how the bags are sold now. Anyone that wanted to buy one had the opportunity this week.

Ward 3 people have to go to Ward 7 for vaccinations because there are no Ward 3 sites.

Agreed. I would feel a little like a poseur with a Telfar bag. Wouldn’t buy FUBU either.

I’ve decided it is fine as long as you are 25 and under and a good person.

The process they have now for ordering is pretty simple. 36-hour sale and buy as many as you want. The most recent sale was this past week.
