Who hates Monday?

Anonymous
It is impossible to be a working parent of young children with these Mondays. I can't get anything done. Kids are fighting and screaming and have nothing to do. DH is at work (as in not in the home). We can't afford any other type of care. How can they call this a proper school day? They have nothing to do. (1st and 4th).

Haha

I was just thinking this same thing. I’ve pretty much given up on Monday. My kids do the morning meeting and small groups if any but we are getting pretty bad about the Google class busy work.

Now they just wait impatiently for their turn in person on Thursday and Friday!

Thy would just be fighting and screaming at school if they weren’t with you, ruining class for the children who don’t have behavior problems. Start parenting.

Huh. Well, my parents used to give us projects and chores to do. Try that.

I am with you. I know you don’t have DS home. In our house we take turns getting the kids out of the house in the morning.

It is not a school day. My DD today said “Is today a stay home day?” meaning no school. Yes, unfortunately it is. I hate Mondays!!!!

Whatever. I didn’t say they weren’t doing anything. They just don’t want to do a bunch of meaningless Google slides.

Today they will spend most of the day outside.

My 4th grader did about 15 minutes of work. My first grader has "independent reading and writing" and ST Math assigned. That will also take about 30 minutes total.

OP here. First of all, that's not true. Second of all, you know nothing about me other than what I just wrote.

So far today, we went on a brief walk but I had to take a work call; they cleaned the play areas, their rooms and emptied the dishwasher for me; they read; they did a math work sheet that I assigned for them. I have calls all afternoon. DH doesn't come till 7pm. It's gorgeous outside. I want them off their devices but our neighborhood isn't safe for them to be outside alone and they don't have school assignments. I don't even care that's it's nice outside. They should be in school.

The poor teachers are taking long weekends and over sleeping while the poor kids are trying to figure out how the hell are going to learn.

My child's teacher posted on their task card "It's beautiful out. Enjoy the outdoors. See you online tomorrow"

How can we say this is school?

And you are a bad parent. Get off the internet and go play with your kids.
