We are having a small birthday party and everyone is coming

I had posted about parties and many people attacked me.

We invited a very small group of kids and everyone will be coming. Actually have better attendance than normal times.

Will be outdoors and masked.

Anyone else having a party?

We had a small outdoor, masked birthday party for my daughter and only 1 person declined.

Everyone is coming because they have nowhere else to go 😂

Both my kids have attended outdoor and masked parties since the fall. We consider this a very safe way to have fun.

Note we haven’t dined indoors or let our kids play indoors at anyone else’s house, so we are cautious. A masked outside party is fine!

So is no one eating during the party? If they are, are you just trusting children to keep their distance while they have their mask off and are eating, yelling, being rowdy?

I am not serving food. I will be handing out food at the end to take home.

And, you are bragging about being irresponsible. Who doesn't serve food at a party. If its safe enough to have a party its safe enough to have food.

Sorry, I still disapprove, OP. No matter how many people are eager to come to your party. Enjoy yourself. When people take off their masks to eat and drink, please make sure they're not too close together.

We've been going to outdoor, masked parties since last summer, but our children are in preschool together, so they're all already exposed to one another daily.

This is a great way to socialize - the parties we've been to like this have had goodie bags with a cupcake, juice box, and snack inside (along with the usual goodie bag stuff). A few friends have kindly sent home extras for siblings, which was really nice.

We have been to 4 daycare birthday parties in the last 3 months. All outdoors, masked and with finger foods and cupcakes.

My hairstylist had a birthday party for her infant daughter with 30 people invited — she described it as a small get together. She’s about as far from MAGA as you can be and she’s pretty damn responsible on many other metrics.

Some people are living like normal, no two ways about it.
