Well, that was dumb. |
| You do you, but right now we're not taking any chances, we'll wait until we're vaccinated. |
| Small masked parties in my neighborhood have generally gone well with no one getting sick. DD has a small group of friends over for her birthday a week ago. Masks were worn, distance was kept and everyone has a good time. |
| We have been having small outdoor get-togethers since October, all masked except when eating (and then staying apart). The kids have been really good about masking and distancing, and we haven't had any problems. I don't see an issue with less than 10 people. |
Honestly, you sound like a sincerely stupid person. Not just having the party, but this immature mocking of others. Brazen moron. |
LOL. Nerve struck |
Staying home for an entire year is stupid and horrible for your children IMO. |
| We're planning a birthday party for our DD. It's going to be outdoors next month in a covered pavilion. Kids will have food but we're going to use place markers to ensure kids are spread out. They've all been going to school together since September in-person, so they are used to wearing masks all day anyway. We'll have them mask when not eating. |
NP. If it were for no reason, you'd be right! You think it's for no reason, don't you? |
|
We just did this (outdoor, masked, no food, <10 kids) and we are going to one exactly like this today.
We don't go to work, kid stayed in distance learning, don't grocery shop, don't go anywhere indoors for more than 10 minutes and occasionally (and masked, of course). Our big risky activity is masked outdoor play dates with these same kids from families with a similar risk profile. None of us can guarantee anything-- and it's not proof of concept that no one has gotten COVID-- but by everything we DO know about COVID this is one of the least risky social things you can do. |

That's great OP!
We wear masks everywhere and don't eat in restaurants but we've had parties 4 times since last March (20/50/15/30 guests) outdoors, with readily available hand sanitizers, plastic ware, individually wrapped food and drinks, and masked for those who prefer. Has gone well every time. Have also probably attended around 20 outdoor parties or get together in the last year. So far so good, and both dh and I got vaccines in February so we're going to continue being cautious but living our lives. |
| I think it’s fine honestly. But COVID has cured me of ever hosting a birthday party again. They really aren't necessary. Not going to begrudge anyone else though. |
I’m sure no one is inviting your kid anyway. Everyone knows you are hiding at home. |
|
Humanity never ceases to disappoint.
Thanks for doing your part, OP! |
You have not been cautious. |
