At worst (or best) they will both do SY with the only potential difference being in the day they pick as the cutoff and any nuances with outliers who are not playing with their grade despite the cutoff (i hate to bring it back from the dead, but I’m taking about concepts like the 60+ guy).

Yes, or 10-month ENCL and GA stay BY.

What's 10-month ECNL?

Teams that play a full 10 month calendar and don't pause for school sports.

ECNL will not make girls skip high school.

They will not. But even DA gave waivers.

ECNL going to SY with GY showcases GA staying birth year but adding biobanding you heard it here first.

This is very likely

SY+60 is making more and more sense isn't it.

Hahahaha

Don't rub it in or they'll just dig their heels in again + focus on a specific date. Not considering WHY leagues want to switch to SY which is so all players in a certain grade can be on the same team.

SY+60 addresses all the issues with SY.

BY + 120 would also🤔

Yep same thing as SY without the +60

This is more unlikely. Teams won’t morph for showcases alone. GA will do what ECNL does on the girls side, regardless of what MLSN does. MLSN and GA are not so connected that they have to do the same thing. ECNL isn’t that flexible because they have boys and girls clubs. It makes more sense for ECNL and GA on the girls side to do the same thing, which is SY, since there is a much more realistic path to playing college soccer on the girls side. Not as much on the boys.

What I've seen is girls getting demoted to a lower team when they wanted to play HS

This sounds reasonable. GA will bind with MLS to counter ECNL, so it has to stay in BY and use bioband to address trap issue.

How does biobanding work? Just for a season or would it be more or less SY in practice for trapped kids?

Haven't we heard this 15 times before? Is this anything except a guess?

Heard about this coming on the GA side in alignment with MLSN but not ECNL. So ECNL would take the high school to college track and GA +MLSN to pro as academies paired with pro clubs.

I don't think that would prevent any players crossing over one way or the other but would make the mission and primary league focus more clear.

Sorry, the previous thread got chopped. Heard the above about the 10-month GA from a USL Admin.

ECNL Regional eats up USCS NPL Super Group in Minnesota.

It seems a move to a blend of ECNL and NPL in a future …

The arms race between MLS/GA and ECNL just gets heated up. It will be interesting to see what ECNL brings after the USSF meeting.

MLS Next is offering spots to some clubs at its new brand 2nd tier in Minnesota. The best club here Tonka Fusion Elite has accepted, leaving USCS NPL/ECNL Regional.

The war between ECNL and MLS Next is heating up.

MLS will offer all GA clubs' boy programs for the MLS pathway. Here in Socal, we have SDSC Surf, which has a very strong boys ECNL and mediocre GA. Let's see if they switch to MLS or Girl from GA to RL.
