Yes, or 10-month ENCL and GA stay BY.

What's 10-month ECNL?

Teams that play a full 10 month calendar and don't pause for school sports.

ECNL will not make girls skip high school.

Heard about this coming on the GA side in alignment with MLSN but not ECNL. So ECNL would take the high school to college track and GA +MLSN to pro as academies paired with pro clubs.

I don't think that would prevent any players crossing over one way or the other but would make the mission and primary league focus more clear.

Sorry, the previous thread got chopped. Heard the above about the 10-month GA from a USL Admin.

ECNL Regional eats up USCS NPL Super Group in Minnesota.

It seems a move to a blend of ECNL and NPL in a future …

The arms race between MLS/GA and ECNL just gets heated up. It will be interesting to see what ECNL brings after the USSF meeting.

MLS Next is offering spots to some clubs at its new brand 2nd tier in Minnesota. The best club here Tonka Fusion Elite has accepted, leaving USCS NPL/ECNL Regional.

The war between ECNL and MLS Next is heating up.

MLS will offer all GA clubs' boy programs for the MLS pathway. Here in Socal, we have SDSC Surf, which has a very strong boys ECNL and mediocre GA. Let's see if they switch to MLS or Girl from GA to RL.

And the SY crowd trying to convince people that the change means instant domination for certain players who will now have their talents recognized and that tons of kids will now stop quitting soccer (even though there's a new youngest of the group!)

Was their a lack of summer month participation pre 2017 when it was SY?

Go research RAE and you'll find your answer

You don’t know what you don’t know.

The google AI summary on RAE seems to be your working knowledge of what it is.

What sucks is that it’s probably the same working knowledge of most of the people on this thread. How do you people stay employed when you know nothing but fumble around as if you’re experts?

Gotcha, you are the only competent person in this read, and in youth soccer as a whole. Insulting strangers on the internet.

Didn’t say that, words like “most” mean things.

But the PP, and tons of posters in this thread keep confusing RAE cause and effect, and generally don’t understand what it is outside of the AI summary and Malcom Gladwell’s misunderstanding of it. Hence my response. And my response is accurate, it’s just a shame you outed yourself as an offended party, nobody would have known the better otherwise (probably including yourself).

So, how about expounding to correct the record?

I would also like a correct explanation of what RAE is. Would really appreciate it

Did we ever get an explanation from the RAE expert?

Lol I just thought the same thing! I’m still waiting too

It’s a waste of time trying to help the RAEtards, I don’t blame them.

What do you expect them to bring? ECNL partnered with grassroots, and from their podcast (the only place they have any PR) it seems the SY change is their “next big thing.”

There is literally zero more for them to offer at the top of their pyramid. And new growth is going to come from the grassroots and regional levels. Not an MLS / GA bandwagoner, my kids are in ECNL, but strategically, I think they used their powder on the SY thing and some weird fixation on an NCAA model that just died.

They will not. But even DA gave waivers.

What I've seen is girls getting demoted to a lower team when they wanted to play HS

Yep. Because HS soccer sucks. And kids that won’t sacrifice HS soccer for club soccer should be tiered with other similar kids who are less dedicated to competing at the highest level.

I literally know of USYNT kids who play high school. Why? Cause is fun. And they are kids. People on this thread generalize too much

When you're that good I'm sure you can do what you want and it'll be celebrated (and good for them!). For those edge players working hard just to make the teams, it can be a different story.

Edge players not getting recruited D1 anyways. So why not play high school and enjoy yourself.

But in NorCal all the top ECNL or at least the vast majority of girls play high school. It would be a big issue for GA if they tried to deny players from high school.

There is one girl in YNT and play HS in San Diego. She had one clip broadcast on TV, and my daughter was the background unfortunately. My daughter also faced another YNT in the HS CIF playoff, who later committed to Stanford.
