Soccer
I suspect this is true. At this point there is nothing to say. |
I doubt it wasn’t mentioned. The past few years age cut off was part of the discussion ant the symposium, and always pushed by ECNL, not the coaches. They said, the ways ECNL maneuvered for the change without club and coach input, maybe you’re right, they don’t need the coaches on board. And USSF sort of said “fine, do what you want, but here are your boundaries.” |
ECNL will not waste a year for MLS and GA to build a moat. Let's wait for their plan. Hopefully it is a brilliant counterattack. |
? |
Kinda a bad soccer pun but the gist I think it's still the hope (I guess) that ECNL has this super savvy way of doing SY the upcoming year because that'll somehow run circles around the other leagues. |
Yeah that would be interesting. BY vs SY teams… |
Well, the trade-off would be they'd be better positioned for 26/27 and already recruiting Q3/Q4 players. Besides, when would BY play SY if ALL of ECNL switched, except perhaps at the preECNL levels where they often play USYS leagues/events. |
Did we ever get an explanation from the RAE expert? |
Lol I just thought the same thing! I’m still waiting too |
| I think the chances of ECNL and GA doing something completely different are slim. At worst (or best) they will both do SY with the only potential difference being in the day they pick as the cutoff and any nuances with outliers who are not playing with their grade despite the cutoff (i hate to bring it back from the dead, but I’m taking about concepts like the 60+ guy). |
Yes, or 10-month ENCL and GA stay BY. |
What's 10-month ECNL? |
SY+60 is making more and more sense isn't it. Hahahaha |
Don't rub it in or they'll just dig their heels in again + focus on a specific date. Not considering WHY leagues want to switch to SY which is so all players in a certain grade can be on the same team. SY+60 addresses all the issues with SY. |
Hey - I always thought it made sense! But some in here might lose their minds if we circle back on that conversation again. |
