Is it just me or is this exterior especially horrendous? I can think of much better ways to spend 1.75M.

Looks fine for me for what it is, not my personal style. It reminds me of a tiny version of some of the villas around Como.

I actually really like it. Do I want to own an Italianate mansion in Bethesda? No. But if you wanted one, there’s nothing wrong with this one. It’s a bit of a folly but it’s not ugly.

I hear you OP. I was shocked to read this home was built in the 1920s! It exterior looks like a circa 1997 knockoff instead of authentic. Some sort of weird exterior update or refresh must have taken place.

hahaha.. yes, on point. I would place it also somwhere Italy/Spain area..

The facade is bit lacking though.. that is why it looks wierd.. it is like someone started but did nto balance it visually. The entry door area falls flat.
