The creamsicle colors look a lot more in keeping with the style of the house. There's just something about the gray that make it look like an imitation Italian new build McMansion when it's actually over 90 years old.

If you've got a 90-year-old mansion styled after an Italian villa, own it and go with the terra cotta colors that match the style.

This is the correct take

Much like how the tacky faux-French Country McMansions in Utah are not the same as a true château, building a tacky apartment-esque façade that badly mimics Italian architecture doesn't mean it's the same as the real thing. Lacks the context, surroundings, and character. If you think they're the same your idea of 'doing Italy' is probably a photo in front of the leaning tower.

You are right about the creamy color but it also always looks goofy in our climate.
I would just tweak a bit all around and take it to the next level to keep up with northern European,
It is just that it would blend in so much better with the rest of the local architecture. The warm colors look great in the cold climate but here they are kind of eye sores, not to assume that the new color is perfect because it kind of does not sit well either.

With the right color and the right detailing you could easily bring it to the next level...

I meant to say: The warm colors look great in the hot climate

If you check out the street view you will see that they sold off the front yard for McMansions, ruining the house forever unfortch.

oh and the landscape.. all the old bushes and the tall overgrown out of shape trees.. out. It seriously add business to already dizzy façade. It needs low profile stuff with maybe two pencil thin trees. and that is all,

I guess someone was hopelessly in love with Castel Gandlofo.. just add a Pope or two..

while the current owner tried to yank out that association .. by covering it with senses confusing color.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaatn now?

Oh that new law that allows for overcrowding of the neighborhoods in MOCO? Building many more homes on the existing lots?

So that will cause exodus of all the McMentionites?

S/o - would love to see examples of the terrible Utah houses!
