Pregnant at 35 - had sex once!!!!

| I am struggling to wrap my mind around this. Somehow I managed to get pregnant at 35 after having sex JUST ONCE last month. We have two kids already and were casually starting to toss around the idea of having one more....we just had unprotected sex ONCE and BAM! This is insane, I must be no more than 4 weeks along. Has anyone else been in my situation? I am in shock, happy of course but I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old so obviously this time around the situation will be different to say the least! Please tell me I will be ok! |

Unprotected sex leads to....babies. How did you not know this?? Lol!! Congratulations!! I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy with a healthy cute kid popping out in 9 months

I had a very very similar experience, with two kids the same age as yours. I ended up miscarrying at 11 weeks after a genetic anomaly was discovered. We had gotten so excited about a third, however, that once I had recovered we tried, and got pregnant right away!

OP here.
I guess I am a little shocked because everyone I know has tried for months before getting pregnant even at younger ages. I sort of jumped in and acted before fully digesting the idea .. I suppose that's why I feel somewhat caught in surprise. I am happy about the news and will sit on it for a while before sharing with anyone or even calling my doctor - i have to process it first. I could not sleep at all last night - not even 1 hour! |

Why would it not be Ok? You have a 2 yo and a 6 yo. Not a 6 month old, and not a 16 year old. And you’re 35, not 45 or 15.
You’re married, and you wanted another kid. Now you got one. Congrats. |

Wow, this same exact situation happened to me. OP my kids are 6, 4 and 1 now. It’s chaotic but great. |

Yes of course. This happened to me 2x (out of 3 children and 4 pregnancies).
Half of US pregnancies are unintended so I’d assume a huge proportion of them were one time slip ups too. Only an idiot would have unprotected sex all the time and think they’d never get pregnant. |

Got pregnant on first try at 41. Easy pregnancy, perfectly healthy baby.
It was a shock to us, as we needed years of fertility treatments to have our first at 37. You're being a bit dramatic about your age. 35 is just barely AMA. |
