Because every single thread on this site that deals with having kids after age 30-35 gets dozens of comments saying your chances of getting pregnant at those ages are nonexistent and that most of those people you know who got pregnant actually had IVF and just didn't tell you.

Look at the Meghan Markle threads - she got married at 36 and half the comments basically said she was too old to be fertile.

But she did have IVF to test for abnormalities. She's pg with a girl now.

Probably a BS story. She did it to pick a gender I bet.

It happens. I got pregnant at 39 while on the pill. The odds were so low of that happening, but it did.
A year later, though, it took six months with very carefully tracked ovulation and "perfect timing," to get pregnant again.

I think this is pretty common. I got pregnant with one night of unprotected set at 38. I also have two children already and am happily married so this is a welcome surprise, but I think I probably should not have been as surprised as I was.

You will be fine! I am 35 and just had my 4th! Last two I didn't even "try." You are just fertile! Be thankful, if you were thinking about a third, time was not on your side. Better to have the 3rd while you are still in baby/toddler mode. I had 4 years between 3 and 4 and it's a tough transition back. You've got this, congrats!

Pregnancy is what can happen when you have uprotected sex. Why should't you be all right?

You're 35 not 45. My best friend had sex JUST once! Pregnant at 39. Just once! Pregnant at 41. Just once! Pregnant at 43. Just once! Pregnant at 45. When you have 4 kids between 40 and 46 you might be an anomaly. There is nothing at all weird about a multiparous 35 year old getting knocked up from unprotected sex.
