I don’t want to make my own post for this. But what do people think about the school board meeting tomorrow? Do we think they are going to approve Brabrand’s proposed plan or no?

I don’t know what the status of teacher vaccination is so my guess is that they might delay it until all teachers are vaccinated two times - if a delay is needed. But maybe the proposed schedule still has everyone vaccinated in time? I’m not sure. My husband will have his two vaccines before his students arrive back in the proposed schedule.

I'm going to say.. kind of. The Board will approve the plan, but not the start dates. Start dates will be pushed back until...who knows. But I bet there is no school in February.

Yeah that’s what I am thinking. Maybe they get K-2 in before spring break but no one else?
Who knows when my 3rd & 6th graders will go back. They seem to be bottom of the totem pole for some inexplicable reason.

This is the first time I think we are actually going back (high school teacher). Our classrooms are set up and spaced, our rosters adjusted, and kids are coming in starting in 2 weeks for intervention.

I think the vaccine rollout makes it seem very feasible.

No one is coming back this year. Let's all pray they get this vaccine together and we all get the damn shot so the kids can return in August. /end thread.

I haven’t received my first shot yet and my teammate hasn’t either.

Winning turtle wax — It seems like a lot of parents are excited about a possible RTS, but as a teacher, if the board approves the plan, I would feel very much like I had won a consolation prize I never wanted. I would only see, at most, one fifth of my students in person, and I would be trying to figure out how to do this concurrent nonsense. So, it’s just hard to look forward to going back to the building.

What grade levels do you teach? That’s an important piece of information here when looking at the vaccination schedule and return to school.

I was really hoping I wouldn’t have to do concurrent by then, or at least, if I did, I could do it properly since FCPS would have more time to upgrade their tech. Yeah, I guess that’s being optimistic.

I don’t know how they could justify going back concurrent in the fall. Schools that were in person this year did this or are full time or transitioning to full time. Are we going to be falling behind still and the only ones not full time while everyone else is?

But, to answer above I also think they will argue the timeline based on vaccine.
