Another ICE Shooting in Minnesota

Staying home during a pandemic for a brief period to help stem the spread of a once in a century pandemic is far different than staying home because we want to avoid taxpayer funded goons randomly shooting peaceful American citizens.

Are you saying we should all stay home to stay safe from ICE?

Imagine if we had to hear Chris Kirk’s hot takes on the execution in MN yesterday.

Who?

The guy who was shot in the neck in Utah last year.

Agree that the administration is full of morons but posters need to stop saying this. They are in Texas and they are in Florida. And the states are cooperating. There just aren't as many (any?) protesters to piss them off with a phone or a smile or their mere presence. So we are not seeing this kind of aggressive response.

They have not sent thousands of agents into any city in Texas or Florida to harass residents.

I am curious, what do you all think was going on in the head of the shooter? What could he possibly be thinking? He has been doing this 8 years and presumably hasn't killed someone in cold blood before, at least in public. Not a new recruit with no training. So what was he thinking? I am not trying to justify anything. Just purely curious.

Also, other than trying to block the appropriation bills, which doesn't sound like it would do much anyways, what else can democrats do?

And can Minneapolis bring charges against this guy (and the last guy?). I know feds are not cooperating but can they legally prosecute? It seems in this case, there is plenty of evidence to convict.

I think part of the problem is the stress of being in a very cold, very tense city, with no end in sight, surrounded by idiots with essentially ZERO training. And the directives are terrible. Scoop up as many people as you can for financial gain, even if they're citizens or legal immigrants??? Ignore court orders and use less-lethal weapons as often as you want???

You are the company you keep, or are forced to keep.

The leadership of DHS is idiotic. Most of the grunts are. So a lot of even the best people there are turning into reckless fools.

The doctor who tried to help this time was a pediatric resident who came out of an apartment nearby. Probably post-call, if she was home during a weekday.

According to her statement, they asked to see her license, but let her through after patting her done.

Time for us docs to keep a copy of our licenses on us, and ready at hand, just in case it will make the difference of minutes.

Fixed that for you. No idea how you can read something and not comprehend it, it’s not hard.

This isn't the point, but you are the one who is having difficulty with comprehension.

I take it you are working from the a prior Reddit thread, linked earlier. https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesota/comments/1qmaqg6/january_24_2026_minneapolis_witness_describes/ . That is the affidavit READ by a woman, but she is NOT the author. She makes this clear at the beginning. I don't know how you missed that, if you listened to all of it. The affidavit -- being read by ANOTHER PERSON -- doesn't identify the writer's gender.

The gender is not identified in the NYT article: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/24/us/witnesses-alex-pretti-shooting.html?unlocked_article_code=1.HFA.GmEf.t6Pcpqs0eZHG&smid=url-share

I am working from more recent Reddit threads, which include bystander comments.

If you are going to correct someone, and do it with an attitude, at least get it right.

People were not protesting. They are legally documenting the actions of federal employees from public space. 100% legal and 100% not justifiable for murder, beatings or any other thuggery. They are protesting now, because people are being killed and beaten. These things were not happening in Minneapolis before ICE came to town. Let's use proper terminology and call this what it is.

I am NOT justifying ICE’s violent tactics. But if you think people haven’t been protesting and trying to thwart ICE every step of the way in MN, read this:

“ Federal officers roam in tinted SUVs most hours of the day. And thousands of civilians, many of them U.S. citizens with no deportation risk, have organized themselves into a highly coordinated campaign to thwart those officers. The sounds of car horns and whistles, megaphones and profane chants have become the soundtrack to daily life in the Twin Cities’ most diverse neighborhoods…
And that was before an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a woman who had positioned her car in the middle of the road….”

Protest is constitutionally protected, and, in my view, a moral imperative in time like these.

That's not what Alex was doing though, so what is your point?

When the deceased man was struggling with federal agents, one of the agents saw his gun and yelled “gun”. I believe one of the agents removed the deceased man’s gun during the struggle, but not all of the agents knew that. When the agents are searching the man’s body after he passed, one of them is heard asking “where’s the gun?”

These are trying to do a dangerous job and have protestors/rioters constantly in their faces. They were faced with a man resisting arrest who possessed a gun. I believe that was their mindset.

Had not ICE acted correctly, the news may have been reporting the deaths of ICE agents, to which the leftists and anti-Americans would be clapping and cheering.

I see the new far-right talking points have arrived and they're...anti Second Amendment
Advising someone not to come armed and hot headed against experienced gunslingers is not anti-2nd Amendment.

Hot headed? He was trying to protect a woman from the ICE thugs!

He was resisting? Barely.

And it was like 5 against 1.
