I have been checking independent sources (TRAC from Syracuse) and I look at DHS numbers, which I don't trust at all. The disparity in numbers is enormous. I am inclined to think that the first is accurate and the second is a total fiction. But for the purpose of my point, it is relevant to point out that both sources show Texas as the leader in number of detentions.

Of course this makes sense in a lot of ways starting with size of state, proximity to the border, and sheer number of immigrants. I don't think Texas is being targeted or punished the way the Blue states are selected in an openly vindictive way. But I don't want people to keep repeating an inaccuracy.

How many of those arrests in Texas are of people actually here illegally? Or people who have actually committed crimes? Just plucking brown people off the streets isn't really a metric of anything positive.

People were not protesting. They are legally documenting the actions of federal employees from public space. 100% legal and 100% not justifiable for murder, beatings or any other thuggery. They are protesting now, because people are being killed and beaten. These things were not happening in Minneapolis before ICE came to town. Let's use proper terminology and call this what it is.

If ICE doesn’t want protestors, they should comply with the law.

Maybe they will understand that the 2nd Amendment (which they worship) is part of a document called the Bill of Rights

Only in a democracy could ordinary citizens even be allowed any pathway to legally own guns

The rest of the document is important too and if they don’t hold, their precious 2nd won't stand either.

If they murder people on the street in front of witnesses, can you image what they are doing behind closed doors?

How many people have been disappeared without a trace?

We know they’ve murdered dozens of people in detention. It doesn’t get much coverage because there’s no video and they aren’t citizens

The doctor who tried to help this time was a pediatric resident who came out of an apartment nearby. Probably post-call, if he was home during a weekday.

According to his statement, they asked to see his license, but let him through after patting him done.

Time for us docs to keep a copy of our licenses on us, and ready at hand, just in case it will make the difference of minutes.
