So you're told different things by different people, so what? Both of them could be true (Musk's contracts for example). What's your point? You think anything you've said makes this shitshow go away? It doesn't. |
My investments are largely boring dividend stocks and they're doing just fine, though i wouldnt mind a pullback to buy more. |
Sure, Jan. Now, go back to Mom’s basement and let the adults talk. |
Sure. This won’t affect you at all. Uh huh. - someone who is also invested almost entirely in boring dividend stocks |
Mine are too - I have no tech - and I’m still down a hundred grand over the last two days. |
Lucky you. We're down $500k. Republicans are screwed. SO screwed. |
Are Republicans really screwed, though? People seem to think it's now the "patriotic" thing to go broke for the "higher good." They are walking behind this guy into the fire, willingly and happily. |
They also don't have a choice. We won't soon as well. America has quite literally never experienced this before in the way China or Russia have - but we're about to. |
Fox literally removed their stock market ticker from the bottom of their screens today, while ranting about Biden and Harris, who are entirely irrelevant to these current events. So all of these folks in cognitive decline who are only watching one network are fairly clueless as to what's really going on. You'll catch bits and pieces of reality on Fox News but they are few and far between across their news cycle. They're still trying to keep people infuriated about past administrations or candidates to distract from Trump absolutely decimating our economy in a matter of days. |
Someone already told all the blue collar workers that make stuff that nafta was patriotic and that “free” trade with china was patriotic. Those patriotic moves cost lots of people lots of jobs but you didn’t care because your stocks went up. You didn’t care about the people financially hurt by those “patriotic” moves. And how is it patriotic to be ok with Canada refusing to buy our dairy and beef but we buy there’s. So the guy in Niagara Falls New York can buy Canadian beef or American for exactly the same price but the guy in Niagara Falls Canada had to pay a huge tariff to buy American beef so he will always buy Canadian. Why exactly was that a good a fair arrangement for America? I’m listening. |
Yes, this making up emergency status in order to rule like a dictator is going to keep going until the other branches of government do something about it. As long as Republicans in Congress care more about their party than their country, we're going to keep sliding rapidly downward. I don't know if they'll ever decide to stop it. |
This is why I took a financial snapshot/questionnaire for my household in December.
We’re going to compare to 4y later. Yep. I know it’s going to be a huge loss. |
I read that he was trying to steer the ship, but ultimately realized what so many other trump cabinet members and advisors realized in the first incarnation of the trump presidency - you can’t reason trump out of anything. Because trump doesn’t believe in the paradigm of experience and expertise that every other president believes in. So many people like Bessent were arrogant and in so in love with their own expertise that they thought they would be the exception, and surely Trump would listen to them. Bessent will forever and always have these slipshod tariffs attached to his name. And he will always be remembered as one of the architects of the recession/depression of 2025. It’s even worse if he was a reluctant one. |
Funny how the “higher good” is commie socialism when talking about programs that benefit everyone, but a patriotic necessity when it comes to hurting the general populace. |
You're listening? Really? Good. Then listen up and listen good. The things Trump has been claiming about Canadian tariffs on meat and dairy, and how "unfairly" America has been treated - those are FALSE. Trump is lying. Here are some details about it that you need to listen to: https://www.factcheck.org/2025/04/trumps-misleading-claim-on-canadian-dairy-tariffs/ |
