Official Kamala Harris VP Thread

It’s got to be a Low T kind of guy.

Charles Barley will be available next Spring. Don't be surprised if he takes on a role.

He’s not weird.

Did one single Dem come on here and defend that? No. Did MAGAts come on here and defend J6? Absolutely.

We may have compassion but we also believe in accountability.

Kelly's apparently not a great campaigner, and he needs to stay in the Senate if the Democrats want to hold onto their majority. Shapiro is too supportive of Israel. Buttigieg is gay - sorry, but when push comes to shove Middle America simply won't vote for him. Everyone else is too unknown, and there isn't time to introduce them to America.

Bashear or Walz, IMO

Umm...

If you have to put the word "fsmous" in front on your name, maybe you aren't so famous?

Just rip the bandaid off already!

They have to do two months of vetting in 10 days. So no, let's not rush this.

That was there choice.
They could have made the switch 2 years ago.

They didn't.

It's not like these people came out of the supermarket.

They are known and have probably been on an inside list for years.

The longer the wait the less confident I am

Confident of what? DYK anything about campaigns?

Does the GOP have one rep who is even half as affable as well as skilled as Walz? No, because hate doesn't work that way.

Who?
Who?

People with zero name recognition on the Politics channel are going to be liabilities that aren't even worth vetting when it comes to the nationwide exposure. People on this channel are already significantly more informed that the average voter across the country. The average voter is not going to want to have to do homework to go and vote. So, candidates like these unknowns are going to add zero to the ticket. At this point, Harris needs to keep her campaign moving forward. She can't afford to give up the VP bump and convention bump. She needs to pick a VP candidate that brings positive reception to her ticket. Neither of those two you suggested come close to adding anything.

I gather you're not a sportsball fan.

I'm not that PP. I have immense respect for Kerr and Popovich. Perhaps they will end up as surrogates. Can't imagine either making any short list for VP.

Who cares who a rapper is going to vote for?

Huge fan of Peters, but believe he is DSCC chair. DK how that would work with everything on the line in the Senate.

His record as transportation secretary also leaves him open to excessive attacks from the right (some are unfair, but it is what it is).

If Harris picks him the black community would get on board. He had Jim Clyburn’s support and he (Buttigieg) is the father of two black children. Pete would be a phenomenal ally for the black community and all of America.

He's also on record as telling his black constituents he didn't care so good luck with that.

He brings nothing to the table that Harris needs and actually poses a risk to losing votes

He's a no.

Get over it.

You're wrong and I'm not getting over it. He brings a lot that she needs - he's an adept communicator, messenger, and attack dog. He loves policy and has a brilliant and calm demeanor. Any of the choices are risky and she very well may not choose him, but he's still the smartest pick.

He's also very smart and good at seeing how best to message while campaigning. I was a doubter, but the more I've gotten to know his work, the more I see him as a potential good President.

He has credibility in the Black community and way more listers than the brat singer, for example.

Oh yeah, just like Kanye in '20. There are a lot of folks who really underestimate the youth vote.
