Lin Wood being disbarred

Lin 'Legal Eagle' Wood is being disbarred in Georgia, stripped of his license, and is currently having his name removed from all memory at his law school.

His name is Lucian Lincoln?? I just looked him up on wiki and he had a terrible childhood. His dad beat him mom to death and only served 2 years in prison. The law certainly didn’t care about battered wives then. Also says he is estranged from his adult children. They probably think he’s crazy with all this conspiracy theory stuff.

So can someone walk through the arguments of disbarring him? Is it that he’s welcome to spew whatever 1st Amendment protected nonsense: crazy views he wants as a citizen but once he brings them into the courtroom using his law license, he’s held to a higher standard?

Yes the bar has rules and ethical standards that you take an oath to uphold.

His spewings go far beyond "1st Amendment protected nonsense", for starters.

And yet lots of us who’ve been abused physically and otherwise don’t resort to violence and conspiracy theories. His childhood may be a reason; it’s not an excuse for his behavior. Get help, seek treatment. Clearly he’s created a lot of damage (you know what they say - hurt people, hurt people), and he could have taken that as a sign to get help. He didn’t. I don’t have sympathy.
