Tips for nausea

Anonymous
Any tips for nausea? Stomach feels blah and empty. I try eating but I still have that empty feeling and I feel like vomiting. I can't do juices or crackers. Any advice?

BRAT - bananas, rice, apple sauce (I eat regular apples), and toast (plain). I also find peppermint and lemon to be soothing - peppermint candies or lemon Italian ice. Feel better!

All of this, especially lemon, helped me.
Crackers always available. I used to keep a box of saltines next to my side of the bed and would eat 2 or 3 before I even attempted to sit up in the morning.
Don't ever let your stomach get empty.
Sour candy, like sour patch kids or something similar.

I took the Unisom sleep tab/B6 combo (basically same thing as Diclegis) with both of my pregnancies, and it really helped.

Small frequent meals and drinking ginger tea and lemon water. Ginger capsules also work.

Never be hungry - keep a snack (nuts, crackers, granola...) in a container on your bedside table so you can eat before you even get out of bed.

I could stomach bread rolls with butter, Cheerios with a little milk, apple slices, toast with PB, and buttery noodles the best. Cold lemonade, a few sips at a time, also helped immensely.

I had a similar thread a few weeks ago. The only thing that's helped me is taking a unisom tab at night. It makes me feel better for the whole day (plus I'm getting 11 hours of sleep a night!). None of the food helped me. I haven't even seen a difference with b6 vs no b6. My normal prenatal has b6 in it though.

Thank you so much. I am in the same boat as you. I am going to take half a tablet of unisom tonight. I broke my B6 tablet in four pieces. My prenatal has B6, but only 6mg. Is it ok if I take 100 mg plus the 6 I am getting from the prenatal?

I did the combination and felt extremely tired. Couldn’t function. Nausea went away. Is that normall? Does it come back?
